I was curious if anyone has tried the Nording Erikson Keystone pipe that uses the volcanic pebble filters. I watched a few youtube videos but not too much info out there. Gimmick or innovative design with the plastic body, spiral reservoir and Keystone filter?? Thanks

Most of the pipers I have talked to don't like them I use the pebbles in the non filtered pipes I smoke and really like them.

I too have used the pebbles in other pipes and they do work as claimed. I have heard good things about the pipe itself, but I don't desire one. My problem is that I am too lazy to fool with filters and such most of the timr. I do use the Denicool crystals in a couple of pipes that have a burnt out airway.

I too like the pebbles in a couple of pipes that tend to form damp dottle, but have no interest in the Specific Nording.

Since the pipe with the Keystones is about $35 I decided to order one. I want to try something different and look forward to what the specially designed pipe & keystones bring to the table.

I actually received one as a gift from a fellow pipe club member. Nothing special. Somewhat like a Falcon and many other historical brands. Frank (St Valentine) posted one old similar pipe somewhere on this forum, but I'm too lazy to search for the post now. Anyhow, it's a cool smoker and due to the draught hole right at the bottom of the removable briar bowl it smokes most tobaccos right down to ash, no dottle. I mainly use mine for Latakia blends. Coolest things about these pipes are the price and the fact that you can chuck them in the dishwasher for a thorough clean after removing the briar bowl and clay pellets

And here's something similar in a recent thread which I came across just now as I was catching up on the threads

Just what I needed to know. I am intrigued with the keystones and look forward to something new.

where are you buying these, Steve?
and in all seriousness, are the Keystones that much different than Kitty Litter?

where are you buying these, Steve? and in all seriousness, are the Keystones that much different than Kitty Litter? Tobaccopipes.com, KingPipesandCigars in Minnesota and their eBay stores stock them. I don't know about the kitty litter but if it is volcanic clay then yes๐๐๐ truly haven't had a gurgle yet and they're cool smokers. They're also fun and different.

I kinda like that Shorty and at $22.00 it's a temptation. www.tobaccopipes.com is a good vendor with quick/free shipping.

Just a very short smoke. it should be offered with additional bowls. with that quick change-out you could transfer a lighted coal to the next bowl and bob's your uncle.

Zarnicky using kidney stones. Is more absorbent.
