Hi, new member here, been a cigar smoker for the better part of the last 15 years but this past holiday season my wife and daughter decided I needed a pipe to go with the handlebar mustache. So, they got me a Karl Erik 1503. As a cigar smoker for many years, I know what I like in cigars and am in the learning process with pipe tobacco. With cigars, time of day and mood plays into what I feel like smoking. Thus far with pipes, I have a couple blends from my local shop and have just picked up a couple tins to check out: Davidoff Flake Medallions, Frog Morton Cellar, McClelland’s Blackwoods Flake and Rattray’s Red Rapparee. I have read some great reviews of all of them and am looking forward to enjoying them. I now return you to your regular reading. ExChef

Ahoy from Fla. Same boat, cigars since 1982 and took up the pipe about a month ago. One briar and I bought some cobs to work on mechanics and explore different shapes. Have the Red Rapporee on order as well. Very much interested in your initial reactions.

Welcome from AZ! Some good smokes in those picks for sure. I'd recommend as a cigar guy that you check out some Burley blends too.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.
Looking forward to learning from your knowledge, maybe sharing mine on cigars and bikes as I am an avid cyclist.
Any NH/MA residents around let me know, I'm situated near the border myself.

Retired Mt. Bike Endurance Racer here ... Vail 100, Brain Head 100, 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo, Tour of the White Mt's, etc ... I rode a Single-Speed, Full-Rigid, Titanium steed that's still my garage baby. Landed on the podium a few times and took some cash and prizes ... good times!

Been doing the American Diabetes Association's New England Classic Tour de Cure since 2013, never got into racing. More of a "stop and smell the roses" kind of cyclist. You'll have to share pics of that Ti steed sometime. ExChef
