Best concert I ever saw was John Prine in Bowling Green, KY. Something happened with the warm up band and they were no shows. No problem - John and his band came out and played four and a half hours with only one break.
John Mellencamp always gave his fans their money’s worth. I saw him in Indy, Louisville and Nashville.
Crosby, Stills and Nash still had it in the late 80s at an outdoor show outside of Columbus, O.
Rush’s reproduction live on the Moving Pictures tour in Indy may have been the best I ever saw.
The Psychodelic Furs Mirror Moves tour concert in Bloomington, IN was pretty awesome.
Worst concert I ever saw was George Thoroughgood here in Louisville. George was too drunk to play or sing. He mailed it in, the lights came on before 10:00 PM, and the amps were being hauled out. Sold all of my Thoroughgood albums shortly thereafter. Sometimes it’s not a good thing to see it happen live LOL.

Saw Meat Loaf and Eddie Money in one concert 1978 or so. Johnny Cash and Statler Bros i 67? Billy Joel 81 and Springsteen 83? Crystal Gayle mid 70s
Would not have been on my radar, as I just didn't think that far back, but crapgame scores with 1) Robert Johnson, who did play in Saint Louis, but no one will probably find documentation where 2) Chairman of the Board 3) Donna Summer, particularly MacArthur Suite 4) Davy Jones 5) Andy Williams
Would love to hear Vaughn Williams do Fantasia on Greensleeves and March Past of the Kitchen Utensils Oh, total side note: Get your search box out, kiddies - Dame Myra Hess One of the best pianists I've ever heard Enrico Caruso - Xuan says every time she hears his music in a movies somebody gets killed Sons of the San Joaquin can still be seen, but I missed them when they were in Branson

I hear he puts on a tremendous show.

Lets add a side list of your favorite women vocalists that just tear the paint off the walls when you have them playing... Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaugh, Dinah Washington, Koko Taylor, Ella Fitzgerald.. Joni Mitchell... Melanie Safka, Yvonne Elliman.. Carole King... I am sure there are many more but these popped in my head first.

Wished I could have seen the Pink Floyd Wall tour but it wasn’t in the cards. The closest Warren Zevon ever got to here was Cincinnati and I couldn’t swing it at the time. I’m sure Ian Hunter would have been a gas too.
Moody Blues and John Fogerty both put on incredible concerts on PBS. Would have been great to see them live too.

saw a momentary lapse of reason show.. A lot of people cut on that album but I thought it was pretty solid work by Gilmore and would have been a great show.

I’ve been fortunate to have seen some of the big ones in their prime so to speak. Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull. The Rolling Stones. But a few that got away because I was either to young or wasn’t in to them at the time.
The Beatles Jimi Hendrix Neil Young and Crazy Horse Elvis Presley Woodstock.
These days some bands get back together and go out on the road, often missing an original member. (Van Halen, Guns n Rose etc) And I stay home, wanting to remember them the way they were when I saw them back in the day.

Boston- the year they released their LP
Pat Metheny- any European concert where the audience was enthusiastic/standing up from start to finish.
Chase- anyone of the concerts during the first year.
Gino Vannelli- any mid 70's concert
Louis Armstrong- anything
There are just too many others that I could list-
Buddy Rich in the 70's
Jeff Beck- Live with the Jan Hammer Group
Stan Kenton featuring Bud Brisbois on trumpet
Maynard Ferguson in the 50's and 60's

penzaholic, I saw Jeff Beck and the Jan Hammer group in the summer of 1976 for the Wired tour. They played at the Cape Cod Colosseum. Lynard Synard was the first act. Both groups put on a hell of a show.
The summer of 76 was huge. Saw Yes 3 times Boston, Providence and Hartford. Saw Eric Clapton and Santana together at Springfield civic center. Saw David Bowie Boston Garden. Saw Doobie Brothers Springfield.

KHO was much smaller, 3k seats, but acoustically superior. He said it was the greatest

In my youth, I caught a lot of acts at the Paramount in Seattle. Saw Jethro Tull on his American debut tour. It was special. Weirdest doubling ever, with the MC5 as the opener.
Very memorable: Taj Mahal w/Jessie Ed Davis on lead guitar opening for Paul Butterfield during his horn days with Elvin Bishop (can't remember if Bloomfield was there).
Smokin' good time!

One that I would have liked to have seen in the Sixties I did see in the Eighties... Peter, Paul and Mary. They are up there almost with the Archies.
Also saw Dionne Warwick in the Eighties. Was told not to expect an encore and she didn't give one, but she was excellent. I barely remember those days now, which is why they weren't in my earlier post

Monterey Pop. Janis Joplin at Threadgill's Pink Floyd, anytime, anywhere. We set in the car in the rain outside Jeppeson stadium back around '70 and listened to them.

Damn Monty, that John Prine concert was 1982. You'll never see him live in his prime again. The "Last Waitz" is an awesome show; however, you need to read Levon Helm's book, "The Wheel's on Fire," for real context. I missed Pink Floyd here in Lexington on "The Wall" tour. Bad mistake. Mark Knopfler, Dire Straights, Brothers in Arms cuts to the bone jack.
