I tend to pair my booze and smoke the opposite of how one would pair wine and food. If I am smoking a complex blend, I like a straight forward beverage like a mild vanilla stout or a kolsch style lager- If I am drinking something like Lagavulin or Knob Creek with a lot going on flavour-wise, I like a nice, sweet Virginia or maybe some dark, mellow Kentucky. I feel like things get jumbled when too many elements are battling for attention.

Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey goes with anything, pretty sure it is all that the Duke drank when filming The Quiet Man.

Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey goes with anything, pretty sure it is all that the Duke drank when filming The Quiet Man. Every now and again when the sun is over the yardarm I have a cup of tea fortified with Bushmills. The 12 year, the 16 hear old is for neat later on. Nothing improves the flavor of tea like Bushmills. That combo is good with an afternoon smoke
