If you could only eat pizza from one national chain the rest of your life which would you choose and why? I'd choose Papa John's if they promise to add extra sauce everytime and keep their MXN 99 deal.

Grapefruit, pineapple, oranges . And sea food. My body cannot handle pizza anymore. But if you could I would choose Pizza Hut.

Strictly homemade for me. Mine is vastly superior to any of these and it only takes a half hour to prepare for the oven.

A couple local places first. I know I should duck after this, but Dominoes changed their pizzas totally a couple years ago. I have not had them lately, but if they have kept the new format, they or Little Caesars would get my business.

Ouch. Any other brand you'd suggest? I am spoiled living in an area of PA with many great pizzerias and styles! I have not had a national pizza in close to 30 years!

Yeah, they're revamp really improved their flavor although I don't like that they now square cut their thin crust pizza.

I use a $1 ultra thin pizza crust made by Golden Home purchased from the local Dollar Store, load it up, shove it the oven and good to go - Better than any of the chains.

None of the chains will make a pizza like I want it - Lightly coat the crust with olive oil and basil pesto. Mix minced garlic and red pepper seeds into the low sodium Trader Joe's marinara sauce. Top it with spinach, artichoke hearts, red onion, jalapeno, low fat turkey pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, parmesan and ground black pepper. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes - Pure yummy. Chains utilize significant amounts of sugar in their sauce and salt in crusts to mask sub-par ingredients - No thanks.

I usually cook down whatever spaghetti sauce is around, adding some red wine. Then top with mozzarella (smoked on occasion), manchego, parmasean, red chili flakes, vegetarian pepperoni, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, olives. Sometimes we'll use mushrooms, arugula, and/or fresh green NM chili. Brushing the crust with olive oil is a must. Damn, I want pizza now. I haven't eaten at a chain for as long as I can remember. If I had to, it would be Little Ceasar's. Some might find this obnoxious, but I like to put my money where it least conflicts with my beliefs and principles and LC's has a better record for me than Papa's or Dominoes (not sure about Hut).

@chico you don't hold it against Little Caesers that Mike Ilitch failed to win a world series with the Tigers?

Those large chain pizza joints mentioned above use frozen premade dough. This means thaw, rise and bake. Their sauce is out of a foil package that they add water to. In essence they are the same as the stuff in you grocers freezer.
Now if you want a fresh pizza that is made in front of you. You also take it home and bake it at 425 degrees. Go to Pappa Murphy's.

I had to look them up: www.downtownmagazinenyc.com/papa-murphys-biggest-chain-youve-never-heard-yet/I would have never thought of selling an uncooked take-away pizza. This is why I'm not rich.

In my opinion the Freschetta (frozen) naturally rising crust pizza is half the cost of a chain store pizza and twice as good.

I was too chicken to mention. They, I believe, are owned by Schwann's food service, whose frozen pizzas are different, but equally as good. Great quality, Freschetta

I can't stand franchise pizza. I guess maybe Pizza Hut..? They have better deals and their wings are vastly superior to those rubbery half-cooked earlobes they call wings at Dominoe's haha
Honestly, even if I were in the middle of nowhere, I'd put my shoes on and leave the hotel for McDonald's if franchise pizza is the only delivery option.

Doors are swinging on my nearest Papa Murphy's. They were decent for chain pizza to start but then the store changed management and the new team got really skimpy with the toppings. I got tired of having to stop in Kroger and spend $10 on toppings to add to their pizza so I quit going there and just made my own afterwards, probably the reason they closed LOL. I saw another one in another section of the city closed as well not too long ago. The nearest one open to me now is a Little Caesars which I can't handle. There's a Subway right next to them if I have to....

For a local "chain" pizza that rocks .. try Montecello's pizza.. I used to deliver food items to their restaurants and main kitchen..SUPER high quality ingredients .. those restaurants had coolers that smelled wonderful, made my hungry when I delivered there.. not many places ever did that!
