What butane fuel do you guys and gals use for pipe lighters. I use Zippo butane but I can't decide if it is worth a damn.

I use the cheapest on offer per the saleslady's recommendation but its been suggested by other forum members that there are better options out there.

I use Vector butane in all my Old Boy lighters. I recently had to purchase Colibri fuel as my local butane shop stopped carrying Vector fuel. I hope Colibria is as good as Vector....

Besides Dunhill, Davidoff and the little single use refills for my Duponts (yes, I have an adapter) I have a can of Lucienne at hand. The key to a full lighter is warm gas going into a cold completely empty lighter.

Bleed the lighter, stick it in the fridge and run hot water on the butane to heat it up?

Only kidding, I have tried this before and it did seem to help. I just purchased a xikar because a corona was a little out of my price range. But I wanted to get some good fuel.

Definitely better bargain over Old Boy if I can attain same consistency. I’m going to give Peter’s method a shot.

Does the xikar ever give you any trouble? Yes, refueling can be a pain in the butt; however, today anyway, Peter's advice appears to be reaping rewards.

I use VECTOR 14x refined and have never had a problem. The guy who got me into pipes used that said good things about it. I've considered looking into but it was kind of pricey and I could only find it in bulk.

Vector for me as well. Try a local smoke/head shop.
