Good afternoon everyone, I was browsing the threads here on the forum and was excited to register so here goes an intro. My name is Scott if you couldn’t tell by my username. I first smoked a pipe with my dad and when I was 16 he bought me my first pipe (dr grabow bent). I smoked with him periodically but never took to it. In my 20s I toyed with Cigars but got very serious with them when I was 30 after my son was born. After building up a collection of about 500 or so Cigars, I tried the pipe again and really enjoyed it. In the last three years, I’ve gotten up to 20 pipes and probably about 10 pounds of tobacco. I like english and Balkan blends as well as Virginia flake tobacco. Not really an aromatic guy but would like to eventually try some more of them.My guilty pleasure for tobacco is Velvet, I smoke it every day and have about 2 pounds of it from 1980.
Looking forward to meeting new friends and maybe seeing some old ones from the other forums I’m on. I’ll do my best to contribute and become an asset of the forum.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like your journey has been pretty close to others here on the forum...the interwebs have certainly helped the hobby since I first tried the pipe years ago...Look forward to your future posts. Glad to see that you are a Scott W, and not a Scott P. thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/2874/scot-peterson-pipe

adding my greets/welcome from Buffalo, NY area. I might be the oldest "old fart" here (12/40) and proud of my "seniority" here so far. 100% lataholic since '63.

I’m 10 minutes from pike County I'm 20 minutes north of Scranton in the Endless Mountains region. If you're 10 minutes from Pike, you must live not too far from where I was, Long Valley, NJ. Come springtime, drop over for a visit in the serious countryside. We do everything in my neighborhood, shooting, flying, ATV riding in the woods, sitting on the porch looking at airplanes and smoking pipes and cigars.

I will, I go to a cabin in Canastota Ny in the warmer weather and take a route that goes right by you. Yes, I’m about 40 min from Long Valley.
