Recently took a shot and bought a pouch of Captain Black Copper & I am impressed. It is far less sweet than the Regular or Royal. I compare it to MacBaren Seven Seas Regular. Just enough sweetness and a cool flavorful smoke. What's nice is you can even taste the tobacco in these blends. Anyone else like the Copper or Seven Seas Regular?

Can't say I've tried either, are they aromatic? If so what kind of flavor do they give off?

steveinny....and, others:
Thanks for the mini-review. Since I mostly smoke Land Ltd. "HGL"-bulk (which I have read is CB original with the addition of a small amount of Latakia) and "RLP-6" = CB original (bulk) I will now try the CB-Copper....and, MB Seven Seas.
Thanks, FrankinNY

Mac 7 Regular is a good blend, that I smoke periodically. I don't understand why CB Copper doesn't have a wider distribution. It is not stocked everywhere like its stablemates.

Try the Grape - stuff is dabomb! Seriously though, the Grape ain't all bad. I think it is a blend that everyone should try just for the crazyness that a grape baccy can be decent.

It looks like CB Copper is disappearing from some online stores...... I remember when Captain Black (CB) Grape first came on the market. There were a number of reviewers that thought it was really good, even from folks who disliked Captain Black overall. Personally, I avoided all "Over the Counter"(OTC) blends for years. First because I am mainly a Virginia & English (and related blends/tobaccos) smoker. Second the PG content and the general perception that OTC blends were inferior (quality of leaf, taste etc.) to other blends also turned me away. One day I decided to take the risk and sample a few OTC blends. One that I found surprising was Captain Black Copper. A blend that made me more open to OTC experiences. Copper is worth a try. PS I have not tried CB grape. This does not mean I will not someday. However as my preference for Virginia and English types of blends has not changed, CB grape is not a priority.

I'm not big on aromatics but there are a few I will smoke. They have their place. I have yet to try the CB Grape, though I am perverse enough to do so. I tried the dreaded Mixture 79 for that reason. [lowers voice] I liked it. I never bought any more, but it's ok.

The first and last time I tried CB I was 16 years old. CB was widely available being an OTC product and store owners willing to sell to a minor. As I’m now “older and wiser,” there are just too many other blends on the market I want to explore first.

I still smoke CBR regularly, even though I have dozens of other blends. The Grape wasn't bad in you like Grapette soda. I will get some more one of these days if it's still available. NOT an everyday smoke.

I used to smoke Seven Seas on a regular basis. Must have moved on after all the options and alternatives caught my attention. I'll have to try again soon.

I've never had any of the Seven Sea tobaccos, but I have C.B. White, Cherry, and Royal. The Royal is the only one that has a regular home in my rotation. I've always wanted to try the copper ,but it just can't be found in my local tobacco stops, and I hunt for bigger and hopefully better game on line. I smoke a good many aros ,so I'm not above trying the C.B,Grape, but so far I've only found the 12oz tub in our local shops, and a 12 oz tub is commitment ,not a try
