Alright guys I'm looking to expand my cellar, so in true group forum I'd like to take suggestions by hearing some top 5s from you guys. Preferably things that can still be purchased lol

Keeping in mind my limited experience and emphasis on orientals I'd suggest:
Skiff, Presbyterian, Vintage Syrian, Durbar, and Match Holiday. In all honesty those P&C Match blends have been a great buy so far.

C&D byzantium and Engine 99, MacB HH Vintage Syrian, Sammy G Skiff and Squadron Leader. You'll note I'm a lataholic.

Speaking strictly in terms of those still somewhat available through etailers in no particular order:
1. GLP Quiet Nights pushes all the same buttons as Penzance for me. 2. Uhle's Burley - 00, Perfection Plug or #300 - I think you have to call them now? 3. Watch City Slices 4. Rattary's Marlin Flake 5. Solani #660 Silver Flake
If one can wait five years, Mac Baren Va #1 ages and mellows magnificently.

I would suggest H&H El Niño and Viprati to lessen the Latakia loaded suggestions above. Also, Savinelli Brunello Flake and Solani Silver Flake are excellent. If you want a good tobacco based aro, I have recently been smitten by Erik Stokkebye’s 4th generation Family Reserve. Tastes like a good VaBur and smells wonderful.

my current top five:
1. C&D Cross-Eyed Cricket (English Aromatic) 2. C&D Gentleman Caller (Aromatic with Deer Tongue) 3. C&D Bow-Legged Bear (English crumble cake) 4. C&D Captain Bob's Blend (English Aromatic) 5. SPC Narrows Bridge (Aromatic, Cherry)
it's also an unwritten rule here that everyone has one tin of Edward G. Robinson blend, lol

It's my opinion you should cellar what you love the most. As recent events have shown, what's here today maybe gone forever tomorrow.
My 'top five' are :
(1) H&H Louisiana Red (2) GLP Stratford (3) H&H Viprati (4) RO Series Perique Blend GP-11 (5) Peretti no. 8 Slices
I could list at least 5 more to that list.
I recommend stocking up on anything first produced after 1/31/2007, as that's the FDA ''deeming date'. Many of my favorites were produced after 2007.
Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

I would be hesitant to make suggestions without knowing what you like. Some of the previous recommendations are mutually exclusive, IMHO.

Just noticed SP still has C&D Holiday Blends. I feel those would age well, and I have 1-3 pounds of each in storage

What have you tried so far and what did you like best? I'm honestly looking to expand my taste. I smoke a lot of Cavendish, but I also like Latakia blends like Frog Morton Cellar and On the Town. I'm looking to branch out my taste, so I want to know your personal top 5. I know taste is subjective, but if I don't like something I just won't like that one, not a big deal.
