Finished weedeating the back yard...tomorrow the front is calling. Exhausting work for an old man, but it needs doing and I enjoy being outside doing it.

A while back, not sure what thread, I posted that Edward VIII made classy dressing in totally disparate suit/shirt patterns. I have, but downstairs, a couple Brooks Brothers books on style. Edward and Fred Astaire are examples of the best. There was a better example in a book where Ed was wearing one pattern jacket with another pattern vest. In the pic below, Striped Suit and Striped Shirt, not normally wise. Dotted shirt and square patterned hankie. He always looks great and this is why

Can't imagine how he could have been happy married to that harpy. "It's good to be the king" That's the issue--he wasn't king for long. He gave up the kingdom for someone who probably looked cadaverous at birth

On top of my already crazy life, someone has used my debit card for gas and food without my knowledge. I hope they really needed it, because I did....

With a time stamp a photo should be availableππ I know someone that had the same problem, ended up a family member β swiped β the card then returned the card like nothing happened!!

Smoking a bowl of Velvet in a Mr. Brog. Last several times, like with We Three Kings, it ripped up my tongue and throat. This is pretty mellow. Maybe age and I am better trained on the draw. Pretty good. No ghost last night. Xuan had a rough night's sleep, but she is back in the saddle with her surroundings. She is not asking things like where the salt is. I love this woman so much. With all the beer discussion in another thread I have declared that I officially miss beer and have no way to get it here. Later going to watch Contact, with Jody Foster. I think I recognize that planet she landed on, and if I am not mistaken there are some pretty good trout in that large body of water. I may have to call my friends on Reticuli and declare an Animal House moment and yell, "Road Trip!"

I appreciate the thoughts, Ted. No, we have no one to really count on. Beer aside we have all of our needs met, so I have no complaints.

We went out to eat today and as soon as we got in the car to come home lightning struck the pole right over us. Quite a bang, but no damage. 3" of rain today and another 90% chance for tomorrow.

David, I feel for ya....you have a tough road and you are sticking by your responsibilities (a rare thing these days). Times get tough and the other half disappears.
Finished weedeating the front half of our property...did good for an old man, and I enjoyed being out and watching it get better with each swing of the weedeater.

David, you're a good guy. If I could get you some beer, I'd buy you a crate full.
We had my son's birthday party today, which was preceded by 3 days of yard prep. Wednesday I mowed. I did 20 bags of mulch and weedwhacked in 2 hours on Thursday evening. Last night we were at my parents, so no yard work. This morning, I got up, got the kids donuts, weedwhacked the rest of the yard, mowed again, went to Lowes for 5 more bags of mulch, and six mums. Did the mulch with my daughter, emptied the current planters, and put the mums in. Hosed down the whole deck. Made a huge thing of guacamole, nachos, and those crappy little Pizza Rolls (guilty pleasure). Wrangled kids, and had a good party. Exhausted is an understatement. Hope every else's Saturday was great as well.

Hey, Legend Lover, do you have "lawns" in Ireland, or is that more of an "American" thing?

Hey, Legend Lover , do you have "lawns" in Ireland, or is that more of an "American" thing? We normally call our grassy areas, 'lawns'. Mine is about the size of a postage stamp though. It's a beautiful day today but I doubt I'll get a chance to have a pipe because it'll be a busy day for me today...Sundays normally are though. Have a great day everyone. I don't want to single people out because there are too many to mention.

I have seen the lawns of Ireland and as LL said they tend to be very small but luxuriant. Anything larger will have sheep on it. Then there are the estates like Muckross House and Dromoland Castle. More lawn than a golf course, thick and dark green. Very often accompanied by 12 foot high rose bushes, covered with fragrant, 5" blooms.

That's yet to happen to me. I hope it never does. Last time I travelled to Dallas, I came home to a $22k AMEX bill. Someone got my info and went on a shopping spree in Kentucky. Took me 4 months to get it all settled.
