toshtego you make me feel awefully guilty for being to much of a thin blooded wimp to step out and have my morning pipe in our quite warm by your standards yet still too cold for me high 30's low 40's temps here in the Phoenix Valley... I wish you did not feel that way. Temperature is mostly about what one is used to from exposure. The coldest here during my 20+ years was -33 degrees. That was cold since I had to go out each Dawn to get the cattle and goats up and moving so they would not freeze in place. BTW, I recall snow in Phoenix in the early 1960s. That was cold for this little boy from coastal California.

Morning Afternoon Patchers!!! Rough night trying to sleep...heading off to the mechanic to get new windshield wiper motor and switch...can't be driving without it. Went to the owner of the mechanic shop that I use...pulled the motor, put a new one in...still wouldn't work as the new motor was making a clicking noise in the "green board"...pulled out the switch, put in a new one, switched back and forth between new and old motors...still wasn't working properly...ordered a new "green board" ((circuit board for the motor)...put the new "green board" and the old motor and switch back in...finally...worked, got an oil change (synthetic) and filter, checked the brakes, and put on new wiper blades...went to pay my mechanic shop/ owner friend...total cost $0.00. Had previously "helped" him out when he had a bad back...he told me "what comes around, goes around"...refused any payment...tipped "my" mechanic $20.00 (he has 5 Chevy S-10's and knows them inside out)...left a very happy man. Now to take a nap before we hit the road tomorrow.

Up from a four hour nap with my runny nose and hell no I don't get no stinking flu shot. The weather fronts need to make up their mind, I have pain radiating from places I forgot about getting bolted back together. I see my new neighbor is trying to relevel his rig after the rain swelled the bentonite clay. All I can say is good luck sucker, woops their go my karma. Me I retracted the outriggers and hit the switch marked level, redeployed the outriggers.

If I got what I truly deserved from being a sh*thead during most my first 50 years of life...I would have to live to 150 Y.O. for it to get even.

sold a pair of speakers today that I have owned for 30 years, it was time to just get rid of them and get something a little bit better. the bad part was having my big Yamaha receiver end up having major problems by not passing any base notes only mid-range and high so now I have to get that worked on, and I took the speaker's back into the bedroom and the big Pioneer Elite receiver bit the big one. So the old Marantz receiver Saved the Day. the guy only listened to maybe 20 seconds of the song that I was playing and grabbed for his wallet.

-14 degrees (F) or -26(C) at 0440 hours. Will get colder as Dawn approaches. A cold end to a difficult year. Here is hoping that 2020 will be more "moderate" for us all and on every level.

Now -19 degrees (F). That is cold enough.
Sun coming over the Mesa. So, we shall slowly warm. It should get above Zero today.
Happy New Year!

seems some have had cancer either themselves or have close friends, family members with same. I appreciate all good thoughts headed my way concerning wife's issues with Hodgkins Lymphoma. At present, cancer-free. The follow up, every 3 weeks, a "cocktail" of something which supposedly can retard the return of same. Asked the name of same at the oncology part of the local hospital. She got her usual hour & a half yesterday. Anybody care to comment about this? Again, she also thanks those who've sent positive messages www.seattlegenetics.com/products/adcetris-usas with all these TV ads about various meds bragging about how great they are for the problem....briefly. Then the huge list of side effects! Comments appreciate here, PM etc Ed Duncan, Batavia, NY

No transportation since old diesel truck will not ignite fuel. Even with anti-gel added at fill up last time. SO, I will not be going anywhere for a while.
This happens when it gets seriously cold here.

Just told a ftard if hit my fifth wheel one more time with a bottle rocket I was going to full on Capt. Benjamin Willard on him. You got a whole lake to shoot fireworks over what are you a special kind of stupid. Earlier at Arbys we watched a employee attack a customer the wife and I quickly exited stage left. I knew watching those Hanna-Barbera cartoons would come in handy some day.

Luckily for him the police came by.

Well ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to end this part of the journey and pick it up in a new thread. I'm also going to move it to the General Discussion too, as there's less and less pipe-related discussion here.
Happy New Year everyone.

I believe this is the original Daily Chronicle thread started by David. Just wanted to bump it up so people can read through it if they like.
