I have to add that Bobby Heenan was always a huge favourite personality growing up. His biting wit and total irreverence... In a way, I grew up to be a little like 'The Brain' haha

PhantomWolf what about his goading commentary during the '92 Summer Slam especially during the fight for the Million Dollar Belt? It worked really well.

I know you guys aren't in to video games, but the new wrestling games are so great looking that it is hard to tell it's a game. My buddies and I made ourselves and we play online with each other sometimes. Here are a few pics. . This is Kurt Angle in-game to give you an idea of how incredible it looks. This is Arn Anderson who I had to make because he wasn't in the game And Here is me. The Living Legend Red Wine Kline haha The second pic is of my friend and I's tag team entrance attire.

Heenan was a lovable person to hate. He was Black Jack Lanza's manager. In St Louis Dick the Bruiser was a fave. He would chase Von Raschke around with a folding chair. The next day, Raschke would say, "Von Raschke not afraid of any mahn!"

PhantomWolf you were pretty generous with Arn Anderson's full head of hair.

Also, Zambini- I lived in El Paso TX for a few years in the Army and had the privilege of attending some local Luchadore style shows. I absolutely love Mexican style wrestling.

They've tried the foreign playboy routine recently in WWF with Alberto del Rio (who is a legit wrestler) and Jindal Mahal (who gained 20 lbs of muscle right before his big push and still hasn't figured out how to wrestle at that weight).

Watched All Star Wrestling Sundays when I was a kid. Enjoyed Baron Von Rashke, Mad Dog Vachon, The Crusher and Ivan Putski.

I went to the wrestling matches last Thursday and I've got to admit that Dragon Lee has a bright future. He even made Volador Jr. work their match and Volador Jr. doesn't put any effort into his matches unless you make him. I don't think they'll be huge international stars becuase they're not the brawny type the US public likes nor the most profecient mat wrestlers that the EU likes but if ya'll like the Luchador style check out Dragon Lee, La Sombra, and La Mascara. El Valiente (great control of his body and has mat skills but totally lacks a personality) and Angel de Oro (too young and makes silly mistakes) also have a shot at being special.

I highly recommend watching All In. Although it's too long by an hour, the six-man tag, the women's four-way fight, and the Kenny Omega vs Pentagon Jr match are all top notch. Kudos to Nick Aldis for acting like a champ.

...I have respect for you all, but "'rasslin'" is beyond my scope... but, please, carry on... Think "Passion Play" combined with "Soap Opera"

I used to watch the Houston wrestling matches with my uncle who lived with us when I was a kid. He had been a wrestler in his younger years and was very good friends with Cyclone Anaya, who had to retire after a crippling ring injury. I met him at his bar in Houston. Paul Boesch was the local wrestling empresario. Just before my wife and I were married, she introduced me to this 14 year old kid that she had babysit for when she was a teenager. He had hair like Carrot Top, and was about 6'7" tall, playing basketball in his mom's driveway. He became a wrestler named Mean Mark Calloway, later known as The Undertaker. We watched his entire career, and then lost interest again.

So, and this is something I'm feeling pretty sure about, I've decided that Paul Roma had the prettiest drop kick of all time. I'm guessing everyone agrees with me?

I only watched All Star Wrestling a few times when I was a kid back in the mid-'70s, and the only wrestlers I recall were a tag team called The High Flyers. I could never see the point of it all.

Watched All Star Wrestling Sundays when I was a kid. Enjoyed Baron Von Rashke, Mad Dog Vachon, The Crusher and Ivan Putski. I remember when Ivan Putski walked into the ring he always had a piece of Polish kielbasa in hand. Still remember Bruno Sammartino fighting against Baron Mikel Scicluna of the Isle of Malta. Tough matches, but Bruno always won👍 Bruno Sammartino passed last year, may he Rest In Peace

@cosmicbobo the piledriver has been banned here for a couple of decades now and was recently banned in the WWF (here we call it La Doble-U). It's a bully move that left way to many people permanently injured and the primo sign of a cheat and ungentlemanly wrestler. I can't believe athletic commisions allowed it for as long as they did. Because inadequate wrestlers tried a move they weren't up to. The Undertaker never had a problem with it. If you watch closely, the victims head never hits the mat.

I think the tombstone style piledriver is much safer than the regular one simply because you can feel exactly where the other man's head end. If you want to see a really dangerous pile driver check out Paul Orndorff's; he actually hops before applying it!

It's my personal opinion, but the purpose of wrestling is to show off the control of body and space. It's like going to the ballet but I can scream obscenities at the performers. If you ever get to see someone like Blue Panther or Kurt Angle live it is actually amazing what humans can do under such strict conditions.
