Hi ya'll. I am Nathan from western Illinois. I have been a pipe smoker now for 10 years. I would consider it both a hobby and an acquisition addiction haha. I am mostly an English smoker or anything not aromatic. I have only found a few aromatics that I like. I love learning anything I can as well as giving any advice that I can. I hope to get to know some good fellow pipe smokers here.  |

Welcome to the forum. And please list your smokes so we can see what you're into. I went back and listed my current top 5 in my profile. Over the last year or so I have really acquired the taste for both Virginias and burleys and any mixture combination thereof (which may or may not include orientals and perique). It took a while for my palate to mature and really enjoy these tobaccos for their differences and my taste for perique has come a long way as well. I smoked mainly mixtures with latakia for most of the last 10 years and am glad my palate has matured and actually prefers English blends without latakia or with just a tad of the smokey leaf. I have not reached the point of liking dark fired Kentucky though. DSK tastes a bit like licorice or anice to me and just doesn't agree with me. |
