...Sutliff Elizabethan Match in a MM Mark Twain... How close would you say the match is? It's not close to the current version. It's closer to the Murray's version which it was copied from.

Just finished a bowl of GasLight. Now that the beard smells of rich Latakia, time to shift gears. Haha
Stuffing a Cassillero with some newly acquired Sutliff: Dark Obsession. I've had a few bowls of it this past week and though it is.. 'nice' I cannot help but to think the name is a little presumptuous, if not ridiculous. Haha

How close would you say the match is? It's not close to the current version. It's closer to the Murray's version which it was copied from. And which do you prefer? I was looking forward to the current, but when it became known that Dunhill was wimping out on us, I figured why smoke something I may love if I cannot get more.

It's not close to the current version. It's closer to the Murray's version which it was copied from. And which do you prefer? I was looking forward to the current, but when it became known that Dunhill was wimping out on us, I figured why smoke something I may love if I cannot get more. The Murray's version was a favorite smoke of mine. The Match is about 85% of what the original was. It's not as peppery and has no lemon Va. But, I still like it a lot and have some cellared. The current Dunhill Elizabethan is a thin ribbon cut (the others were/is not) with less variety of Virginias (no lemon, no stoved), less perique, and is rather grassy, which isn't true of the others. It's so grassy that I thought it was made for cows to smoke. About a quarter of a bowl left of C&D Burley Flake # 5 in a 1980s Peterson 314 Full Bend black Sandblast system pipe with a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Working and listening to The Jack Benny Program.

My first pipe of the day is 2002 Esoterica Dunbar in a Don Warren Freehand sitter with a plateau rim and butterscotch acrylic stem. This is the last of the stash. I have a recent production, but I'm not patient enough to hold off until 2034.

Just finished even more EGR for Sunday morning, in the Nerrup Selection 32 bent brandy. And now following it up with more Match Revelation in the Savinelli smooth Porto Cervo 141 ks, a chubby billiard. (Seller's photo.)
