As I mentioned in my brief introduction, I am a new pipe smoker as my wife and daughter got me one for the holidays. As I learn more and more about this new adventure, I find myself pondering the procurement of a second pipe. I think that I had mentioned that they got me a Karl Erik 1503 and I am really enjoying the shape and heft of it.
What say the denizens as to another pipe of similar style and stature, also needs to be somewhat budge conscious as all purchase authorization need to be approved?
😊
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

^This x10. Nording's are very reasonably priced and a steal on the estate market. The few I have all smoke well. Hard to beat if you like freehands.

Define "budget" ... give us a range. <$200 US. Sadly Mrs. Chef has been unemployed for 18+ months. ExChef

Also can't beat a Savinelli for value. Never had a poor one.

Look at the estate pipes at Smokingpipes.com. Some good bargains. I have just been doing that. Very distracting from getting any work done.

Stanwell, Bjarne and Bari also make similar pipes.
For Karl Erik pipes, checkout Milan Tobacco......https://www.milantobacco.com/karl_erik_pipes.htm

Here are two links to pipes from an importer of Ukrainian Pipes. I have both of these and they are good smokers. Ukrainian AuthorUkranian I have no clue25% off when you buy two pipes. Of course, you can look at the sellers other pipes. Some are less than 10$ and that is free shipping

I normally always recommend Savinelli to the new smoker, but that has changed. I would grab a couple of Briar Works pipes for your 200.00. A buddy of mine just got one and loves it and he knows pipes. I have heard nothing but great things about these pipes. Plus they are American made and I like supporting our guys when feasible. www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/Briarworks/

Vermont Freehand has some very attractive pipes at reasonable prices. One maker that is always under-the-radar in my book is Mastro Beraldi. I have 8 of them and I'd put them a cut above Savinelli and definitely worth the money.

Spend $30 of your 200 on a bag of 10 Missouri Meerschaum seconds. Then get the briar of your choice. You'll have a variety of pipes to smoke, and without spending a fortune, you can dedicate pipes to certain tobaccos or types of tobacco.

Or just buy MM Country Gents, 5th Avenue and Mark Twains if you don’t want 2nd’s.
I would also agree that Briarworks makes a very nice pipe as does Savinelli/Rossi.

I’ll second Nording. I have a unfinished freehand and a churchwarden and both smoke terrific. Good value for a great pipe
