Thanks. I thought they were a casualty. Steep price hike, though - $18 per 2oz tin is stretching it.

....which didn't stop from snagging three tins each of OBB, In-Between, and Cognac which I've never tried.... I skipped Exotique because I already have a few.

I remember $12 last time I bought Our Best Blend 2 or 3 years ago. I bought a total of 10 tins. I have to think this might be a last chance.

I found one of my old receipts from 2015. The price per tin back then was $13.50.

I was surprised to see that there was no order limit. I guess the price is intended to ensure people don't go too crazy.

It really is, and $18 is more than I've ever spent on a 2oz tin. Still, better than $40-50 on ebay, and at the rate I smoke I won't have to buy them again.

Probably zambini. This tobacco "flipping" racket is out of control. I am also going to take a guess and say that 3/4 of the pre-orders will be refunded. I bet they are swimming in money right now and it isn't like Esoterica blends have ever flooded the market.

peteguy -sigh- I may have to find someone coming over from the US in May to do me a favor. The manufacturer's distribution set-up is killing me.

IMHO, they can shove them where the sun don't shine! Such a shame!

IMHO, they can shove them where the sun don't shine! Such a shame! I am afraid I would like it too much and not be able to have it regularly. Feel the same on Penzance, which I have never tried. Scarlet Pimpernel said, "Nothing is so bad as something that is not so bad." I say, "Nothing is that good when people cry how good it is."

On the bright side, if I don't care for any of these blends I can flog 3 or 4 'em on ebay and pay for the whole lot. I'm pretty sure I'll like Cognac because Pembroke is one of my favorites and this is supposed to be like a heavier version. Pipestud thinks In-Between is Penzance in ribbon cut, so I'm sure I'll like that. And OBB is compared to Exotique and Margate, so.... well, I'm pretty sure I'm going to like them all and have just re-justified spending all that damn money! But probably never again (unless Krumble Kake ever re-appears). peteguy I bet you're right about refunds. They still show available for preorder and I'd be surprised if they really are getting enough stock to fill demand. zambini, yeah, I'd also bet they'd sell out at $25-30. I would not have bought any for that, though.

I've heard - rumors and talk - there's a chance that Krumble Kake will reappear this year. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I ordered 2 each of three different blends. We will see if it really pans out. I have never tried any of these blends so worth a shot I guess.

Krumble Kake shows Out of Stock! It wasn't offered for pre-order, just OBB, Exotique, In-Between, and Cognac.

You would think that a tobacconist would give his loyal walk in customers first shot at this stuff. From all the talk on different boards, he will have no trouble selling it all, so why the pre order? Maybe he needs the money from the pre orders to pay for it when it comes in?
I don't know the tobacco business but some businesses use a 10% net 30 if paid within 30 days and then 60 and 90 days after? Maybe he needs the pre orders to be able to pay within 30 so he can get his extra 10% off the price. Maybe he is holding the Krumble Kake for his walk ins? I do enjoy speculating on how certain businesses work.

Premal no longer has a storefront. If KrumbleKake was ever made again it would surpass much of what is going on with the secondary market at the moment. Stuff is near mythical.

Dave, How long ago did they close the shop? I have noticed their inventory of artisan pipes is pretty non existent. Are they going out of business?

I believe, but could be wrong, that he does his estate pipes and whatever retail tobacco business out of old shop. Just doesn't have a turnkey business. He also goes to all the shows. At the KC show last September he had tons of Premal Cheda and Buckeye pipes.

Sometimes this hobby can be rage-inducing. Had 3 cans of each and by the time I made it through Pay-Pal, the Best Blend had sold out. Whoever you are- Choke On It! haha
