I just logged onto my account with them and my order still shows "Awaiting Shipment".... Same here. At least we know orders are being shipped. |

Just tried my very first bowl ever of "Our Best Blend", part of a batch of older SH I picked up a couple of weeks ago.....
All I can say is ... WOW !!!
Now all I need to do is find 20 more tins. ;-)

Just saw these posts from Premal, written today over at speakeasy forum:

If you would like a refund, please contact me and I will refund you. I am not out to screw anyone. Unfortunately I underestimated how long it would take to ship all the orders."
"I am the only one that runs Smokers' Haven. At Chicago I had 2 friends help me setup and dismantle and they watched my table while I used the restroom and what not. I ship about 20 to 50 orders per day since I started to receive the shipments from the packager on April 14th. There are still about 150 orders left. Germain has shipped me an order about once a year and this order was bigger than any previous one I received. I thought I would be able to do quite a bit more but I was wrong. I had some interruptions that delayed shipping here and there. I took many orders offline before I made them available online and those were the first orders out. Most of them international and the very old customers that have been buying since the 1950's. I apologize to all of you for the delay. To those that cancelled, I will be holding the stock for 1 month in case you decide you want it later."
And a bit of interesting info: when asked "do you tin them or does Germain?" he replied,
"Germain sends them in bulk bags to D&R in North Carolina to tin. It is then sent to me."

Assuming that the average order is 4 tins = 4100 tins Each tin was, I think, USD 20 = USD 82, 000 in sales He may have some additional tins to sell at shows but even then I doubt he's making much in terms of total profits. At least it doesn't sound like he can live off the profits of one sale a year. |

I can't imagine he makes 50% profits. I mean, it's still a good side business even if it sounds like a bit of a hassle. |
