According to those who profess to know such things it's not supposed to freeze or frost here in Carolina after April 15..So it's planting season and farmers will be hard at work in the next few days.In a few weeks we will have locally grown veggies and melons. It's always hard for me to wait those few weeks.I especially hate those bland tasting things that stores call tomatoes in the winter months. We have a place not far from my house where farmers go every Saturday morning during the summer and sell their products..I'm a regular customer.

Our last freeze is supposedly May 7th (Farmer's Almanac) and we already have our seeds started. Along with the usual veggies, there will also be some Tobacco plants ... Tennessee Red, Golden Harvest, Orinoco and Semois. I love spending time in a growing garden ... very therapeutic!

I'm holding off until May 15 to put new flowers in the ground.
