McClelland No. 2010 Classic Virginia, now it's gone, I find myself thinking often about this fine workhorse of a Virginia. Does anyone else miss No. 2010?

Never had it, and I guess that I never will. There were a lot of McClelland numbered blends out there. I was fortunate enough to get 9 oz. of 5100. I didn't even try it. It is sitting in a jar!

I have a pound of it jarred, 3 lbs of 2015, 2 lbs of 5100, and a pound of 5115. I'm also stocked up on 40th, 22,24,25,27, Dark Star, Red & Black, Tawney Flake, Beacon and Beacon extra, Tudor Castle, and a few others. Not in huge amounts, except for the 40th, which I bought last year before the news broke, but enough considering all the other stuff I have cellared. I'll get around to missing it in a few years, maybe.

I like 2010 very much and my only regret is that I didn't buy more of it when the buying was easy. So I'll reach for it from time to time, to allow the pleasure to stretch out. Much as I like McClelland Virginias, they can wear out their welcome with me. The relatively small amount of their blends that I have is more than enough. I have so many other pleasures cellared.
