I know a few artisan pipe carvers that are reasonable and I like their work but I know there are many out there that I don't know of. From the pool of current artisans who do you recommend? Who are your favorites that typically sell their work for say less than $300. I am not ready to break that price threshold yet and am curious what is out there.

yes...Zeiner highly recommended by those who know of him. Tinsky, Randy Wiley come to my mind as long time quality carvers from US. Sure others will know of other reasonable carvers.

Don Warren, RC Sands, Joel Arker. All make pipes in the $100-300 range.

Brendon Pinkham and Emmanuel Atilano are both under the $300 mark and you will find it hard to get better craftsmanship for the prices they charge. They both have a great eye and strive to get better with every pipe they make. Get a pipe from both before it's too late and their prices go up.

That Scottie chick prices hers a bit over 300, but I cant speak from experience about her pipes since I dont have one.. yet. Although some squatch like canadian says shes infuses them with puppy souls. I'll be scoping her table out at chicago this year since her pipes are on my short list. RobE makes really nice pipes at that price point, he can be found on facebook at RobE's Art. He's local to my area and I have 3. Robert Perkins makes great pipes, rmperkins.com I believe. I have 4 because he reads my mind and I am weak willed. Buckeye pipes are made at the smokers haven shop and are great smokers, they aren't artisan persay but the draw is wide open and the engineering is perfect on the one I have. Basil Meadows pipes are stellar. I need more of his pipes.

Ryan Alden and Larrysson are two I would recommend. Both have been at it much longer than most of the newer carvers who are in this price range. I just bought mine newest artisan pipe from Larrysson and the price was 280.00 plus 20.00 for shipping, coming from UK. In my opinion he makes some gorgeous pipes for the money and he has a history of creating great smokers as well.
I own two of Ryans pipes and both are great smokers, right up their with my Rad Davis pipes. He is pretty busy with commissions but he is worth researching.

I don't keep up so I didn't even think of him. He gets my vote too :-)

Michael Addis pipes are amazing. So are BST (Sasquatch) pipes. Both run in the $300 range and are well worth the cost. I have Basil Meadows, Don Warren, and Michael Addis pipes myself, with no regrets.

I'll toss in two more whose pipes I like, Arly Curtz and Tony Fillenwarth. Both make great pipes at affordable prices.

Yep ... great pipes and a real gentleman, too.
Nice to see you back and hope you're doing well, Ron.
