I love the look of the Shillelagh Falcon. Never smoked a Falcon but of course it is on my list.

Are they dishwasher safe? Let's see now remove the Briar or Meershaum bowl from the metal base and stem. Now let's look at the stem and base, let's see we have metal (pot )and we have a nonremovable valcanite bit. Hmmm hmmmmmmmm, yea it might be possible.

I have a few metal body pipes. 1 Falcon with a single bowl, a vintage Dr. Grabow Viking with three bowls, and a Twin Flow with one bowl. the Twin Flows' bowl is has the threads wrapped in teflon tape and the bit falls out. someone tried the clear nail polish trick, but to no avail. I'm just gonna make a new bit for it. the Falcons' bowl is a rusticated Bulldog and a bit narrow in the chamber. all three bowls of the Viking are quite a bit larger and I smoke that one quite a bit. I don't bother with any kind of moisture traps or filters. I just keep the pipe tipped downward a little. after smoking, I run a cleaner down the stem and wipe out the moisture chamber with a paper towel.

@billyklub, is there any value in the vintage Vikings? I found one a while back and bought it. Just wondering.

after a while of removing bowls you lose your airtight seal and it barely smokes. I apply a tad of wax to the bowl threads before I smoke mine.

Not all bits on Falcons are removable, damage will result. Reefed on bits and pinched tubes can be a problem in Falcon Estates. A frequent complaint with Falcon bits is that there not very clenchable. This can be remedied by the Dental bit, which despite its appearance, is comfortable and easily clenched.

...btw, the Falcon I currently own (Made in England, FD16) accepts both Dill's and Dill's Bristle pipe cleaners readily... just gave the shank a good scrubbing with a Brillo pad and multiple pipe cleaners... a little toothpaste on the mouthpiece brought a nice, shiny finish...
