I got tickets to see Alan Parsons June 8th in Phoenix.... Won tickets on the call in radio line Lynyrd Skynyrd farewell tour with the Outlaws and .38 Special May 18th.. .3 days after the wife's birthday...when she saw Lynyrd Skynrd, Ronnie Van Zandt was singing lead...she is pretty happy.
Elton John will be calling it quits as he does his Yellow brick road tour.... www.eltonjohn.com/toursI would love to see his show, but the prices are a deal breaker...
Ian Anderson/ Jethro Tull is on tour this year in the US: jethrotull.com/tour-dates/We will be seeing a lot of bands fade from the stage in the next few years.

...nice score! ...seen Alan a few times here in CA... great show... His music I never tire from...never saw him, but others have always said that he delivers. I am all about the venue anymore, Frinstance, I would love to see Paul McCartney but not in a Football stadium...Just a shy bit over a C-note WE can see AP in venue like the old circle star in San Mateo...that really hits the sweet spot. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_Star_Theater

I am sure he does...when he came here though they had it in the cardinal's stadium...nosebleed seats weren't cheap, and i was told that the sound left a lot to be desired.

Congratulations Charlie. Always good to win something.
Since reading your post I asked Alexa to play music by Alan Parsons...it's new to me.

I saw Alan Parsons open for YES back in 1998. He puts on a great show. "Eye in the sky." I got a front row center ticket to see Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters in June 26th at The Edgfield in Troutdale, Oregon. Can't wait!!

Ala Parson's "Old and Wise" is one of the most beautiful songs I've heard. The original vocals were done by Colin Blundstone, of the Zombies. In fact, the Zombies usually include :Old and Wise" in their live shows. If you get a chance to see the Zombies you will be blown away by their musicianship. I saw them twice in the past 2 years. Rod Argent's keyboard playing is amazing. They heavily influenced my when I was a young musician and still do now that I'm an old musician. We saw Elton John in Florida 2 years ago and the show was outstanding. Sir Elton was on stage for a full 2 1/2 hours. A very enjoyable evening. We saw Paul at Citi Field in New York. Another outstanding show.

I never thought of going to an Alan Parsons concert, since most of his music was studio construction. We listened to his music for years when we were first married. I saw Jethro Tull at the Houston Coliseum in 1975. Amazing concert!

I always thought the same thing about Steely Dan, Ron. Never saw them, but heard good reviews also. What is a shame is when a band keeps touring when they should hang it up. When Toy Caldwell died, the Marshall Tucker band lost it’s voice. I saw Chicago some years back, musically very good, vocally they sucked. With so many vocalists over the years, only one remained and his voice was thrashed. I heard that Billy Joel was awful... voice is shot, and he had his back to the crowd half the time. Same with Skynyrd though, (only one original member) but for free tickets, what the heck. ultimateclassicrock.com/lynyrd-skynyrd-answers-critics/

I saw Marshall Tucker many years ago. Great show. And a great loss. I saw the Moody Blues May 31,1996, the day that Timo Leary died. They were kind of old then, but still put on a great show. I hear that they are still touring, another 22 years later! I Saw the Stones in Reliant Stadium in 2003. And they were old then. Rock and Roll must be the true fountain of youth.

I used to confuse Alan with Gram and vice versa. Musically, the two are worlds apart, but produced some amazing work. My two Parsons picks: Grievous Angel (G) and The Turn of a Friendly Card (A).
