Someone posted this on another site. imgur.com/a/3YCIYI will applaud Sutliff for being on the ball. You have to love a company that goes for market share where ever it may lie.

Harris,
Thanks for posting this list. Very interesting. Jim had mentioned the Sutliff 5100 match to me but felt that it lacked the depth and tanginess of the McClelland product. Still, for those who are looking for possible matches, this is a good place to start.

That's great - and excellent customer service. Given that Sutliff supplied to McC and that they had a long working relationship, I would not be surprised if some of these were essentially the same thing. It would be interesting to try a few side-by-side. My post was made in fun, but the list is worth posting here (even if there is no Toad Martin on the Riviera!):

Hang on folks. An announcement is coming soon! Jim Inks will soon be offering matches of any tobaccos that you desire. They will be entitled 'Eggs Act Matches'. No USPS, UPS, or Fedex delivery. All shipping will be strictly by Federal Eggs Press.

If you want to try a good 'Match' product, I highly recommend Sutliff Elizabethan Match. While it's not a match for McClelland, it happens to be a really good VaPer. Also, for $1 and change/ounce, you won't find a better deal.

No one, that I can see here, thought of this issue: SPC - If those Sutliff matches catch on, SPC carries very few of them. I would not want to yield that whole demographic to P&C. Unless P&C has a Exclusivity Contract with Sutliff, I would start carrying them. besides, there is the business you would get when P&C is backordered. I often go right to the other person for it. Other thing, though I only saw one example at the moment, but the mention of Lane Hazelnut. Sutliff has one, but try to find it. Again, something SPC could get onto.

I have tried both and both are very nice! so nice that I mixed them..and added some dark burley blending tobacco.. MMMM-MMMMMM!

some of those equivalents in that Sutliff (thanks for posting it) chart are a bit of a reach, imo.

I do out of the on some blends.. and some have been quite surprising. Hazelnut and amaretto mixed with a touch of chocolate is yummy. I had some Mcclellend chocolate and added some white burley I flavored with loranns orange flavoring. Sutliff has some great blends that are perfect for experimenting with and with the addition of some C/D blending Tobacco, you can make your own custom.blend for a really great price. It is also a a bunch of fun to boot!

I find myself blending a lot now. I have not been for the worse on account of it. I save space and also have more of the Master Blend that I created than having tons of open tins
