I own some property in Hawaii (Oahu) and visit frequently, but I don't recall ever seeing anyone smoking a pipe there (other than myself, of course.)

As another "old cob" I would point out that apparently the most horrible thing that could happen to a child growing up in the '50's and '60's involved walking or running with something in one's hands. The danger, as my mother pointed out frequently, was "poking" an eye out. With this in mind, I can only imagine falling with a pipe clenched and poking my brain stem out. Just sayin'  |

I sometimes sit on a bench in town and smoke but I seldom meet other pipe smokers these days.

Go with a light pipe and just use the hand opposite of your cane..that works well for me

The slapstick in me would love to see that happen someday. |
