I’ll often reference my buddy Brad. He and I worked together for years in a company owned by his father. Sadly the company was sold and his dad passed but we’ve remained friends for the past 19 years. He was never into cigars or pipes and often made fun of me for being a fan. One day he told me he got into cigars and enjoyed them and he quickly amassed a collection of several thousand cigars. Fast forward to about 6 months ago, now he is into pipes. He likes buying old estate pipes and he restores them himself. He flew up from Miami this past Friday and I picked him up at the airport. When we got back to my house, he opened his bag and gave me some pipes. 5 in all, and they are great.

He’s also gifted me probably another 8-10 pipes over the last few months. Truly a wonderful friend and very happy to have him to share the hobby with. He also bought me a tin of tilbury at the pipe show and some other stuff.

Very cool - and great to have a real life pipe buddy. Its such a rare thing nowadays that for most of us this forum is as close as we get.

Very true, sucks that he lives so far but he has the means to fly up often.

Nice to have a good friend to share the hobby with. Tell him to join our merry band here, he might like us.
