Welcome from Michigan! I am jealous that you're in Denmark because you have easier access to The Danish Pipe Shop in Copenhagen than I do. If you ever get to Amsterdam, stop past the pipe shop at the Amsterdam Pipe Museum. He has a HUGE amount of Danish made Stanwells in stock. They are all 2000s production and not 50s or 60s. Be warned that the shop does not accept credit or debit cards. You'll want to have a pocket full of euros if you go in there. The Danish Pipe Shop is my go-to shop for tobacco and pipe paraphenelia; in fact I am going there tomorrow as they have a pre-event celebrating the annual Danish Smoking Championship the next day. I am going be there as well, but not to participate in the competition, but a lot of Danish pipe makers and sellers of second-hand pipes will exhibit their wares and it is going to be expensive I fear. I'll have to go and see The Amsterdam Pipe Museum; I have spent some quality time on their homepage... A great place. Thanks for the link. I shall go and read almost immediately after posting this. |

...and I tend to get carried away very easily. One of the second-hand pipe sellers has just posted some pictures in our fb-pipegroup of the pipes he's going to bring. A whole display case of Sixten Ivarsson pipes. If I buy just one, DW is going to do inflict severe damage on my person, kill me and then present me with the divorce papers. I'll stick to his Stanwell designs.  |
