Just got this in an email from Payless.
"Due to new shipping restrictions from UPS, all filtered and small cigars must be shipped via US Postal Service"
So when is pipe tobacco going to be added to the list? Or maybe it won't?

What's the logic behind this, do you know?

I have no idea why UPS is doing this as I cannot see any logic behind this decision. Unless they consider small and filtered cigars to be the same as cigarettes? Is there a law that says UPS cannot ship cigarettes?

If anyone can catch the repeat of Tucker Carlson tonight or check for the episode on youtube in about an hour, there was a cigar maker on, telling what's going on. Quite interesting, and may actually bode well for pipes if they don't go down the same drain

Is there a law that says UPS cannot ship cigarettes? Yes i do believe they consider small cigars in the same category as cigarettes “Little Cigar” means any roll for smoking made of tobacco, wrapped in either paper or any form of tobacco (including homogenized tobacco or natural leaf tobacco), that either (a) weighs 4 pounds or less per 1,000 rolls or (b) has a filter made of cellulose acetate or any other integrated filter. www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/packaging-and-supplies/special-care-shipments/tobacco.page

More often than not when I get something from P&C or SP it is consigned to UPS but delivered by USPS. So, I don't see what the big deal is.

The cigar guy on Tucker said it has to do with any rolled tobacco being put in the same class as cigs. He was also bemoaning all their beautiful art has to be trashed by the warning stickers. He likened (and why not) cigar makers as artisans, like winemakers and other smaller industries
