From what I can gather, the sites were taken down because of illegal content, and not because of opposition to pipe smoking.

They took down a number of other sub forums relating to guns and alcohol. I would be willing to bet they got some new legal mind who figured that they had exposed themselves to serious liability.

I swear the last few weeks there had seen a 500% increase in WTS posts. Interesting stuff. Meanwhile, ebay stock holders keep buying jets with their McClelland $$. Crazy BS.

A lot of the social media sites are going full steam stupid....I will probably be shutting down the Facebook page that I find myself clicking on less and less...they have decided to restrict content that doesn’t even violate their rules of conduct...YouTube and Twitter also.

A lot of the social media sites are going full steam stupid....I will probably be shutting down the Facebook page that I find myself clicking on less and less...they have decided to restrict content that doesn’t even violate their rules of conduct...YouTube and Twitter also. I have never been a Facebooker, nor a Tweeter, or a SnapChatter. These social media know-it-alls may just over politically correct their media sites, loose members, and eventually shut down. Gee whiz. What will stockholders think of that (no vested interest in any of these organizations fyi). As far as I'm concerned, they can all melt away in to that black digital zone...

On Pipesmagazine radio show a week or so ago, Levine commented that a site was offerering free tins of tobacco if people Snapchat? A pic... they had fewer snap chatters than tins set aside for the competition.
Country Squire regularly asks its listeners to tweet pictures...
no thanks on either account....I find myself wanting to unplug from more and more tech as I make another trip around the sun.

I only FB, when I first started I had over 500 friends, now down to 92 and some of those are fellow pipe smokers I have only corresponded with, mostly on there for gardening, Mother Earth News, Chickens and tobacco news......

Question is, will FB delete some/all of the tobacco groups/pages? Facebook already has a policy banning the sale of tobacco.

This makes me angry. What’s next ? Book burning? Our government knows what’s best for our health. I’m sorry, I could go on, but this isn’t the place.

It really isn’t about the health... if everyone gave up smoking, people in low places would complain about the loss of the revenue stream, and it would be on to find another host for the vermin to latch on to.

We're up and running at speak-easy.club. Frankly, I'm disappointed that's it's just another pipe board format. I really like the way Reddit worked better. Oh well, it's NBD just another site where my data is the price of admission.

Dave, I like the set up, it is like most boards. I thought the reditt place was more like the old alt. news groups and was less user friendly.

Like here, a member can post a photograph within a thread if needed and so forth. On Reddit, you can only post a link within the thread. I like to see a photograph in the thread, and not have to "click" a link to go over to a photo hosting site to view...

Mark, totally agree with you. That reditt site looks like something from the late 90's. Not being able to put pictures directly into a post is pretty lame.
