Destructive little tree rats. I'll shoot some of their local cousins to even the score a bit.

Dang! I've had pack rats do the same ... heard they're attracted to the oils, sometimes peanut, on the wires.

If you would like, I would be glad to share my grandmother's possum and sweet potato casserole recipe with you.

Kentucky fried squirrel is yummy. Well not the Kentucky fried recipe but flour them, into seasoned butter milk, dredge in panko bread crumbs seasoned with cajun spice.. then deep or pan fryt to a golden brown. Serve with veg and starch of your choice!

Please do not kill them... all creatures have a right to live at least as much as we do, oftentimes more. Find a way to kindly spook them out of their misbegotten vehicular abode so they may safely relocate to more natural environs.

Rodents chewed the ignition wires on my Ford Focus.
They seem to like nesting in "The Valley of the Lost" on my Ford 7.3 liter PSD. Placed some mothballs down there and that kept them away. Of course the truck smelled like hazardous waste for a time.

Squirrels are good at messing up vehicles. I had a problem once with them in my truck, glad my insurance covered it.

toyota pick up was jacked by a family of squirrels nested in motor bay and chewed a couple dozen wires off needless to say it is not a good day arrrg Soak several cotton balls in peppermint oil and stash them all over the truck and the squirrels will stay away. I have used this technique on my boat and it works.

Ahhh.... squirrels... I've had to redo wires in the shed twice because of those little ______.
They drive my dad crazy because they eat all the bird food. Solution... put a can under the bird feeder and shoot the can when they show up.
I've ate my fair share of fried squirrels, but it's been 15 years or more. I also quit hunting around the same time. Fishing is different story.

Mice invaded my wife's car over the winter. A huge mess that required $7,000 of repairs. I hate meeces and squirrels.

Years ago, while building a sewage treatment relay pump station, while climbing a ladder, I came face to face with some sort of a large sewer muskrat standing on his hind legs with fangs bared....a fellow carpenter quickly swung a six foot level and split the head in two of the rabid looking creature....scared the hell out of me.
Several years later I was delivering a Sizzler restaurant in Marin county at 2AM, it was pitch dark behind the restaurant, and as I walked within inches the dumpster, my body movement triggered the motion sensor on the food light, and again I was face to face with Arnold Schwarzapossum...I screamed and the possum made some sort of scream....and in the words of Ronnie Van Zandt:gimme two steps, gimme two steps brother, and you never see me no more....
Not really afraid of rodents, but face to face encounters when you aren't expecting it can be unnerving.

Haha! I know how that goes. I run into rats often at work. There's nothing like tearing a wall out and having a family of mice run out.
The last job had squirrels all in the ceiling tile.
I live in the country and I think the opposums wait in the woods and listen for me to take the trash out. More than once have I been greeted at the outside trash can.

Haha! I know how that goes. I run into rats often at work. There's nothing like tearing a wall out and having a family of mice run out. I cleared out the garage last year and picked up a box of mice. They jumped out of the box like a firework. I turned around and my wife was hiding in the boot of the car.

We have a bunch of squirrels, but plenty of trees for them to chew on. They were eating some of the plants on the front porch until we interspersed some Chola cacti amongst them.

Power companies have spent a lot of money trying to find a way to keep squirrels out of substations. Its a major problem.
Lots and lots of things have been tried with no consistent results.

Cut off their heads and hang them on the fence.
Or not.
