Ok here is a question, what is going on with ghurka cigars? I see a new cigar every month and retail.price is stupid high and yet the sell for 80% off retail at CO all day long? Are decent? We're they decent at one time and are now trash cigars? Oh what about Rocky Patel cigars? Are they any good and what about the seconds that holt's sells?

(RP was on at the end of Tucker Carlson Monday night). I use to hang out at a MKE area Cigar shop that is featured on the latest issue of Tobacconist Magazine and at that time they were big into the Gurka brands but even at full price they were not that great. All box and band. www.tobacconistmagazine.com/adventures-in-marketing/Last fall I picked up a BOGO box at a meet and greet at my shop in AZ. They were practily giving them away, I wanted something to buy and I needed a fancy box. The cigars were poorly rolled and they smoked messy like a cuban sandwitch but they were only about 2 bucks a stick. I gave the other box to our gardener there.

I kinda thought all hype .... seems kinda strange that s primo cigar can be created every 60 days or so.
I am still considering Rocky seconds cause that's where my budget is.

Even as cheapos at the sale price, you can do much better than Gurkhas or RPs. I've had one or two decent Gurkhas, actually, but never a good RP. Here's a cheap way to try one of the better Gurkhas along with 4 other cigars, for $5 shipped. www.cigar.com/p/cigar-com-5-for-5-samplers/1493083/ The Genesis is really good for the price, and the others are okay.

The only rp I've enjoyed is the olde world reserve maduro. Its a good box pressed, and I've burned probably 100 of the stupid things. Not a bad price point if I remember right.

Personally I am not a Gurkha fan. It's just my opinion but I find them to be gimmicky and trendy and mostly all their cigars taste the same to me and I don't find the flavor that appealing. Now Rocky Patel cigars on the other hand I smoke a few of them I tend to stick with the edge Sumatra it's the one with the maroon colored band on the foot of the cigar it's a Toro it's dark has a lot of flavor and won't break the bank at 7:50 in my local cigar shop.

For me Gurkhas are just an okay cigar and RP’s can be hit or miss. My favorite RP is the Edge Sumatra, I’ve always preferred a dark leaf cigar. My last trip to J&R I picked up a few of my favorites......the Punch Rothschild Maduro. Rich full body smoke, perfect ash to the end, plus I enjoy the ring size. Still sold at a reasonable price @ 5 bucks and change. Back in the days when I had much more money to spend ( now on a very tight budget ) I purchased most of my cigars from Mike’s Cigars from Florida. I still remember picking up some great bargains on what was called “ The Crazy Pages “. Twice I was lucky to find the Arturo Fuentes 858 on special sale for under $40.00 a box. Many other choices at very cheap prices👌👍 For the price my favorite cigar now is the Padron 3000, I’ve never had a Padron I did not enjoy!!!
