While something like FVF might hit the spot once in a while, for the most part I find straight VA blends pretty boring. But slap some liquor or other flavorings on it, and give it a fancy name like Vanilla Creme Flake or Firedance Flake and I'm all over it. And VaPers? Fuggedaboutit.

I keep a Yello-Bole Brylon in a pipe rack to remind me of very early PAD gone awry.

I keep a Yello-Bole Brylon in a pipe rack to remind me of very early PAD gone awry. Hey ! I Have one of those. Actually like to smoke it.It's one of my three bulldogs and is great for lat blends. My pipe confession would be that I asked the wrong question and found myself in posession of an ounce of M-79,then proceeded to light said substance in the house. Not condusive to a "Happy" marriage.

If it's confessions...I always disassemble my pipe and clean immediately after each smoke.
Nothing has broken...yet.

I smoke a pipe to look smart. When someone asks me a question that I don't know I puff on my pipe and look off into the distance as in deep in thought until someone else answers or the subject is changed. Kidding of course lol.

Recently a girl my brother knows called me a hipster because I have a beard and I smoke a pipe. I replied 'could a hipster lift you over his head and break your back over his knee?'

I've been removing stems from warm pipes to clean them for 40 years. The only time I've cracked a shank was by dropping it or sitting on it. I also adjust the fit so the stems are not ferociously tight to start with. They get cleaner that way because they haven't dried.

I have never witnessed any sort of calamity when removing the stem from a warm pipe.

I've never seen a shank crack, just an inability to reinsert the tenon into the mortise. I suppose it would have cracked if forced. Maybe the trick is to reinsert it before the shank starts to cool?

Actually if the tenon seems a little too tight going in, I just leave it barely inserted, and when it cools fully, it slides right on.
