Am I right in saying ennerdale is a lakeland?
I'm assuming that strange taste that I've never experienced in any other tobacco is the lakeland.
It's... Interesting.

It is indeed, and one of my favorites in that style.

Yes. You are correct. My first impression was that it is for those who don't like tobacco flavor. However, once the strange assault on your senses is over, it may grow on you. It really melds with the tobacco.

I liked it! It reminded me of the smell from my childhood that I've been forever trying to find. I thought it was condor / condor blended but I'm not so sure. Is there lakeland in condor?
Is there a better / equally good alternative lakeland than Ennerdale to try (bearing in mind I can't get half of the stuff that you can)?

I like Ennerdale quite a bit. If you want to try something of a "flowery" nature then SG Grousemoor may suit you. It's another love/hate blend but I like it. Grousemoor always reminds me of Earl Grey tea. Not an all day smoke but it satisfies a certain itch.

CONDOR is freely available to you....just get some. I prefer the Long Cut (Brown) flake version.

Yea, but I'm not a fan of Condor...maybe it's because I never got that 'special' taste with Condor than I did with Ennerdale. I may need to revisit (although I did earlier in the week and still wasn't a fan). That said, it was Condor blended rather than the straight-up Condor. Maybe that's the difference.

Glad to hear that you like Ennerdale, LL. My first try at a GH Lakeland tobacco (Kendal Dark Vanilla) was a bit of a shock. Since then, I've tried some other blends with lighter floral notes and the style is really growing one me. Ennerdale is on my wishlist and I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

So my mum came over for dinner and I could have sworn she was wearing lakeland perfume. It was uncanny. Had I not smoked ennerdale today I would never have made the connection.

I like Ennerdale, but I really like Glengarry Flake. It's more fruity than flowery, but make no mistake, this is not like cherry or berry blends. This has that Lakeland presence, it's just toned down in the flower dept. and has more of a fruit flavor. Getcha some!

Wow! There are Lakeland fans here. It took me a bit to like them and admitting to that in some forums is like saying, "I like to curl up with a Harlequin Romance."
G&H Broken Flake #7, anyone?

Yes, Ennerdale is one of the flagship Lakelands, as others have already told you. The tonquin flavor is the taste that appeals to me the most; the floral aspects don't seem to translate into the smoke so much, but the tonquin is something you can taste.

Ennerdale will seriously ghost a pipe which isn't a bad thing if you like it.

Is there any/much difference between the flake and the ready rubbed?

I think you are confusing tonka bean with something else. Tonka beans are used worldwide as a Vanilla substitute. Ennerdale definitely does not have a vanilla flavor.

And you are not going to taste vanilla in Ennderdale. If you want to really see what Tonka flavoring is all about PM me and I'll send you some Tonka flavored Virginia from my homegrown.
