Had a newly listed Savinelli Bent Billiard @35.00 in my cart at SP earlier today, when some dirty rat bought it before I could check out. It was a nice unfinished that someone put a good stain on and a fancy colored acrylic stem. Hate it when that happens.

That happened to me at P&C in tobacco so many times. A couple times at SP. When I see the posts for Smokers Haven I don't even bother.

It was a nice unfinished that someone put a good stain on and a fancy colored acrylic stem. Hate it when that happens. You gotta watch out for those "snipers." However, one would think if you have an item in your cart, and it's the only one left in-stock, that you would be given some sort of time frame to have it locked-in to your cart to purchase. If after that allotted time has expired, then its "katy bar the door" and the item is back up for sale. Anyways, that's my thinking. It sounds like "you snooze, you lose" at SP. Even if you have it in your cart to purchase...

I get nailed a lot. I can see why they don't have the feature of making items in ones cart available to others though. I can imagine lots of broke hoarders just keeping a cart loaded. Haha

yes some keep a cart loaded, so that has to be factored in. With Estates though, a 5 - 10 minute window doesn't seem unreasonable. I wasn't even shopping for Free Shipping, but side tracked on pipe cleaners.

If you don't quite have the coin at the moment for a pipe you want at Sp, you can put it on layaway...they don't advertise it, but it is an option.

Same with Pipestud, snooze you lose! ...some sites give you 5 or 10 minutes before checkout, but no pipe-related site that I'm aware of...
