Good morning, you all. First smoke of this week; My Own Blend's Christmas tobacco in a reg. no., handmade Stanwell no. 42. The Mac Baren tobacco tin is one of yesterday's flea-market finds. It combines two passions of mine, pipe smoking and Old Copenhagen. It depicts a guard at the Royal Palace Amalienborg, painted by the great Danish painter Paul Fischer around 1930. The tin is from the nineties, according to the price label and the small idiot label.

Comoy’s cask #4 in a Peter Brakner Antique micro rustication....perfect match on a southwestern night. Peter Brakner made beautiful pipes and nobody since has figured out quite how he made his rustications. He took his secret with him to the Dark Side; he only ever told one person, the mother of one of his friends and she never revealed the secret.

It's waaaay below the average temperature at this time of year and I recently received a pound of C&D Yorktown to jar up. I decided it's the perfect time to smoke the Yorktown I am jarring as it's a phenomenal "quicker" smoke. I am smoking some Yorktown in the Vauen Roswood 192 pipe with a can of Modern Time Fraxos Hazy IPA along side.

Just wanted to know, Will a unopened tin Grow mold? Or was that a open tin. Initially, it may grow mold cultures in the container until which point it turns anaerobic in the tin and depletes all remaining oxygen. If the tin is over a few months old and it’s not seriously bulging it shouldn’t have mold inside it. It could however start growing mold once opened. Thanks for the information!

Dear Mister Rott, the pjs were a birthday gift form my eldest daughter. Had to wear them...documentation followed. I figured showing up in pink bunny pjs would leave me with nowhere to go but up. If you really wish hard I'll have a duplicate photo made and send it to you autographed...by me. My degrees in 'Unclear on the Concept' and 'Diameteric Opposition' allow me to face the crowds with stolid dignity. PS My green and brown Elf longhandles are pretty spiffy too.

Firstly, I appreciate the formailty after calling me "Mister Rott", but you can be less formal and call me "Head" and I am OK with that. Secondly, I would be remiss if I did not accept your generous offer to send me the autographed photographs of you in the two costumes. Your daughter has excellent taste in allowing you to show yourself to crowds with "stolid dignity". I'll put it this way, you have bigger ones than I do. Seriously, I can see you have a great sense of humor and you a are a great addition to our forum. We all welcome you and look forward to sharing smokes and "witty banter" (mostly on others' parts). Stick around. This is a great forum with great people.
