Thanks for the update! I'm curious as to the story of how they ended back up at Walker Pipe Works.

I ordered a couple on Sunday and expect them in the mail today. One for me and one for my son.
I got this email yesterday. Since I don't know any of the history, it doesn't mean much to me.
It's been a while since our last newsletter because not much has changed... until now. Thanks for taking a look.
In mid-March 'Forever' Stems production and sales was transferred back to Walker Briar Works in a friendly move with Old Log Cabin Pipe Works. Pat Morgan has done great work for nearly three years, but recently wanted to pursue other activities. We thank her for everything she has done to continue the 'Forever' Stems tradition of fine craftsmanship and quality. 'Forever' Stems are now back t
o their roots, Walker Briar Works. The same people, craftsmanship, quality and care. Please take a look and make your MM Corn Cob Pipe a little classier and, believe it or not, an even better smoke. Sorry this is so long, but good news sometimes takes a little longer to share.
Regards,
Dave & Sue Wolff (and of course, Missy too)
'Forever' Stems are Back! 'Forever' Corn Cob Pipe Replacement Stems are the best of all worlds. They are made from the finest Vulcanite and Lucite available, and finished to perfection. We hand cut and finish the tenons and lips to fit all MM "Filter Style" pipes. The airways are drilled to 1/8", the recommended perfect size for cool, dry smokes, thus eliminating the need for a filter. If you haven't smoked with one of these stems in your cob pipe, you really should. The difference is truly amazing. This from a guy who has smoked MM pipes for 60 years. Me! Those of you who have, like me..., know too.
A message from our CEO, COO, CFO, etc., etc., Missy Wolff:
I keep pushing for another newsletter, but as usual, somehow nobody listens, even when I get more obnoxious than usual.
With the return of 'Forever' Stems though (which I invented in 2009, for which I get NO credit I might add), enough is going on again so they had to listen. Anyway, 'Forever' Stems are back, I'm back in control, and all is well in my world. Please take a hard look at everything. When you order our stuff, I get to crack the whip and get some action from my people who mistakenly think they run things around here. That's fine with me as long as they chop-chop and do what I tell 'em to!
Thanks to everyone. With Love and a BIG Woof, Missy

Oh, I guess I missed the joke.
Apparently Missy Wolff is the pet dog. They have a picture of a dog with a pipe in its mouth next to the message from the CEO, COO, CFO.etc., etc.

Ok guys need some input. $20.00 + for a stem for a Cob I don't get it. When I can go to MM and get a free hand stem for $10.00.
Please shine some light on this.

I don't get it either. I buy stems for a few bucks and fit them to my cobs. I have some nice looking ebonites and colored acrylics. Don't understand why someone would pay $20.00+ for a stem that they put on an $8.00 cob.

Freehand stems were out of stock. Don't know when the will be available. It will fit and I have don't have to worry about getting a stem that fits, or messing with making one fit.
I bought one on a lark. I can switch it from cob to cob if I want, but bought it mostly for use in my Apple Diplomat second. (Wrap you head around buying a $20 stem for a $3 cob)
BTW, it is a very nice stem. I am happy with the purchase. Of course, YMMV.

They are or were great stems. Haven't bought a new one yet. They are much more comfortable than standard cob stems. I have fitted some estate pipe stems to my cobs and they work just as well as the forever stems but take work. The forever stem is a lifetime stem if you treat it with care and doesn't take anything but a credit card.

I bought mine back then, fitted to a Diplomat cob. The stem itself only interchanges with 1/3 of my cobs. That they are a Universal Fit, is not absolute, owing to shank diameter variance on MM's part.

FWIW, the one I received today fits all of my MM filter cobs. It doesn't take a filter. That is not an issue for me since I don't use filters

Cool. Anyone know the diameter a guy would get for a MM Marcus? Love these pipes, but the bits are a joke.

I don't know that it will fit the non-filter pipes.

None fit the Marcus (or any of the non-filter MMs), wish they did... I tried the stubby but it's still way too big.

When I converted a Piazzolla Billiard/Liverpool to semi-churchwarden, I lucked out and that original stem fit my Marcus. Not much help I know, but check your parts box.

Thanks, guys. yeah I was just reading on the Forever Stems site.. I guess I will have to try some of the other models.
I just ordered an 8" Churwarden and a Lucite Regal Saddle - Dark Orange Swirl. Time to smoke some cobs!

I managed to get some of the MM Black Stems from Pipe Nook for 8$ each, 2 less than MM. I have several jerry rigged pipes now, but I have yet to have one worth 20$ or more. Not saying I don't drool over them. I surely do

Soooo ... am I the only one that actually likes the black plastic stems? They are extremely easy on the teeth and, over time, create an indention that is customized to your clench!

I have a bunch of these that got from Aristocob for $.59 each. I use them in the pipes that I smoke while I'm doing things other than sitting around. I clench them and go through them pretty quickly, but at 59 cents a piece, who cares? (they also have black bits, but I like the amber) I like my new Forever Stem for when I an sitting and thinking a bit about my pipe as I smoke it.

I have a couple of Forever stems. They are first class, but I can't see myself buying any more. I like the plastic stems well enough, and they are cheap to replace. The Marcus uses the smallest stem. I have a bunch of them. The Forever stems only fit the larger, filtered size pipes.

Isn't that more than you can buy a new cob for? Even an expensive one?

I do like the plastic amber and I agree, my canine teeth eventually wear a comfy little grip into them. That's how I will continue to smoke them at camp or in the yard, but I like the idea of dressing one up- The orange swirl regal lucite is just really cool looking. I can't wait to see it against the black finish of a Country Gent.
I do hate the tiny stems on the Marcus pipes though. They pinch shut after a short while.
And I will finally have a churchwarden!

The message from Old Log Cabin Pipe Works reads: Down for Maintenance Old Log Cabin Pipe Works will no longer be accepting orders for Forever Stems. The making of these high quality stems is now back in the capable hands of the original owners, Dave and Sue Wolff of Walker Briar Works. Please visit their website at www.walkerbriarworks.com.

Forever stems look great, but I, too, am happy with the plastic bits. The amber stains really well with time and looks great against my black legend imo.
You might be able to see the difference in my avatar.

Gladly pay $20 to not have to taste and chew through those nasty "bubble pipe" stems from MM.

These are the two I got yesterday. The lighter one in the Apple Diplomat is mine and the one in the Charlestown Cobbler is my son's. Both pipes are seconds.

Nice, I have had to try real hard not to order one of those Charlestown Cobblers. May not be able to hold our much longer if you fellas keep posting pics ;-)

I got both of those pipes in a bag of 10 seconds from MM. I gave the CTC to my son. I think the inside of the bowl is the same size as a Country Gent, but the size if the cob itself is a smaller. It is a really nice pipe. My son likes it quite a bit. The Apple Diplomat has a smaller bowl, and is lighter.
