For those of you that don’t know, I’m in recovery. I’ve been sober since August 26th, 2016. I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching, and I believe I’m here to help others suffering from addiction. So, I’ve decided to become a Certifed Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA).
My classes started last night and run through mid-June. The course meets Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 6-930pm. At the conclusion, I get to take a test to get the CRPA. There’s a high demand for CRPAs in the recovery field and not enough people to fill the positions. It’s an exciting time and I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life.

Congratulations..I watched my father fight an alcohol problem for many years before he was finally able to put it behind him.I for one don't like to see it advertised the way it is.I'm glad you're moving on and helping others..Good for you.

Congratulations brother. I hope to someday quit drinking. I tend to binge drink. Once I get a six pack in me its over. I am drinking until I can't drink any more. I am growing tired of it and I am too old for hangovers...they kick my arse at 47 years old. I am sure you will help many people struggling with alcoholism.

Congratulations Sam on 19+ months, and taking the next step in helping others. You'll do just fine and pass that test with flying colors. Positive thoughts coming your way from the West Coast

Congrats and good luck with the Peer support endeavor. Sober since I got my lazy arse out of bed this morning. On the flip side, my sobriety date is July 17, 2011.

Since a drunk almost killed me in the spring of 1985 i haven't had to much to drink, maybe 1 or 2 drinks a year. Also at the same time my tolerance of excessive drinking and drunks have reduced greatly. Wolfman, I wish you luck on this part of your path. It takes a big man to admit to a problem. It takes a bigger man to fight for change.

I’m not sure if they had CRPAs in ‘87, but Chet helped me a whole lot. Great going! Keep helping!
