Looks like a lovely man. It also looks awesome to be outside at a game in your T-shirt...Doesn't happen much here.

Think of all the players he got to see. I thought I was blessed to see Stan the Man play, Dizzy Dean pitch (old timer's game), Bob Gibson, etc. He's had to have seen it all.
Back in the Sixties, btw, every game I saw with the Pirates in town, we lost. Not sure of the overall stats, but I never wanted to see the Pirates here after that decade

I think a couple of the baseball games when the pirates had police recognition night my dad and I met him..my dad made sure to seek him out

He got to see Babe Ruth's last three home runs. That's amazing. That is nothing compared to basil, he saw the first briar turned bowl in St. Claude...that is something! Cool story Jim, pretty awesome that you met the guy.
