Gunny Sergeant R. Lee Armey, one of the only characters (and he was a character) on TV that I usually made a point to watch just unexpectedly died. Sad. He reminded me of my time in the USMC whenever I watched his interesting firearms shows. Too close to home; we were contemporaries in the Corps.

He was quite a character. Got into acting almost by accident and I am glad he did. He was a great presence in movies away from The Corps such as "Mississippi Burning". Always enjoyed him. RIP, sir!

He was a real morale booster to my son's unit in Afghanistan when he visited...sadly we cannot find the picture that was stored digitally of him with the gunny...  |
