I do the bulk of purchasing from three online retailers, two large and one small which is also local. I do order from one large retailer the most because they have more of what I'm looking for and can order all at one time -- I like to do one-stop shopping and save on shipping. There are three other small retailers I buy from on occasion because they have exclusive blends I like. So far, though I've had excellent service from all of them. I did order during a promotional once where I was supposed to get a free item and it didn't arrive. I simply emailed customer service, they apologized and it was shipped out right away. I do find the shipping practices of one retailer a little annoying, by using UPS SurePost I always get my order a day later than I would have if it had come by either UPS or USPS. I have ordered things from large businesses on the same day, the other ships by priority mail and are by far further away from me than the other, and their package always arrives first.
But, if I can get something I want at my B&M, I buy it there, even if I have to pay more for it, because the owner is a great guy and runs a class-act shop. AND he lets me sit in the lounge and smoke my pipes even though all I buy is a drink and slim jim, lol.

Naming names, I check 2 online retailers - SmokingPipes and Mars Cigars, compare prices and availability and purchase accordingly!
Not had any issues with shipping on either company or any of the trades I have completed!

I mostly buy from P&C, then SP. I have bought from a couple of other places like 4 noggins, etc. Also, Peretti's and Wilke. And never had any issues with any of them.

One online retailer, who shall remain nameless, usually has the best prices, but unfortunately for me doesn’t have the guts to ship internationally. So they’re out.

I basically read a review here, get the urge and then search down the list until I find the vendor that actually has it in stock which is becoming a longer and longer list lately.

It's always good to support your local B&M! Indeed. A simple question of using it or losing it.

For pipes and tobacco, I’ve used 3 vendors, 2 regularly.
For cigars, I’ve probably used 6-7 vendors on a regular basis
