What's the word on these blue and yellow Petersons? I've mulled over picking one up. I'm a Peterson fanboy and they look like nice pipes.

they do look cool (if it's the one I'm thinking of). Some pipes in the pics I've seen are darker blue than others. I would prefer the lighter blue. They certainly stand out!

I wonder if they fade like the green ones.

I have one. Very good smoker but the color faded quickly to the point where you can see the color only in sunlight. I have not tried polishing it yet so I can't say if this is a permanent condition.

I couldn't resist the SP sale & got a 150 Bulldog & a X220 Bent. Aside from the color, they seem the same as the current St Pat Day pipe at nearly 1/2 off. There's a finish run on the 220 and finish on both pipes is very dark, almost black. Peterson color pipes all seem to fade with time and I expect these will be no different. Smoking neutral so far and a bit slow to cake, but otherwise okay.

they go over really big in WV. I was thinking the same thing! my B&M has sold quite a few. wouldn't be surprised if most purchases were during college football season, lol. if Peterson ever makes a green and white one it will go over equally well.

The owner of the shop where we meet at, told me that he was surprised that his Peterson’s weren’t moving.... most of them are the 2017 Christmas edition with the white stem, personally I cannot stand the look.
It surprised me that he bought so many of the same... he is a savvy collector and businessman.

Although, not one of the Xmas or seasonal special pipes, the Peterson Kapp Royal XL90 with the yellow stem is one I've really enjoyed. Now, if only they would come out with a "Green Bay Packer" edition would only make it even cooler

I just received one (B10) in the mail, it feels like it belongs in my hand. Rub it with a white cloth just a little bit and you see the transfer of blue. Not sure what its going to do over time, but as long as it keeps burning tobacco, I'll continue to use it.

Peterson makes quirky pipes. They kinda make you think about them . . . . ha ha. I like that.
* the stem on my 220 fits my new old stock Keyser bent Billiard, an English made pipe of good briar, but a cheap stem. So that is a win-win result. Woo Hoo!

I'd like it more if the blue were light enough to see grain through. And I dig the new Avatar. Those books were the best as a kid. They're actually making a film. Guillermo Del Toro is doing it I think, so it may be worth watching.

Update: after a slow start, both pipes have broken in. Solid performers, the only negative I can report is that the finish bleeds off and stains my hand sometimes when smoking the Bulldog. I suspect they were 2nds to the current St Patrick offerings, being not quite good enough cosmetically, so given the dark blue stain. When I see them at full price on other sites than SP, they are almost bright blue. Perhaps Peterson cut a deal with SP (as they are priced at 1/2off) ?

I'm assuming over time that will stop, although it must be annoying.
