Be it a home mix or something more commercial, I'm on the hunt for something non-aromatic, and more than likely a Latakia/perique focused. I went as dark as I've dared so far, and was quite pleased - I call it Cadillac Blood. I wouldn't mind finding something similar that can really smoke-out a room. Latakia - 2 parts Perique - 2 parts Oriental - 1 part Green River Black Cavendish - 1 part *Really nice Nic-hit

Oh...it's a loud smoke. Haha! My wife says the room note is like a campfire, but sweeter smelling.

She's one of those people who really dislikes smoking, but loves the smell of the smoke. Kinda like those weirdos that don't drink coffee but love the smell of it brewing. Haha!

My wife is the same. But I could never smoke in the house. My life isn't worth it. ...maybe consider a new wife? Never. My wife is awesome in so many ways. I'm truly fortunate that she is with me. Sure, she doesn't really like me smoking a pipe but it's only because she wants me to live as long as possible with her.

I have a variation that I like. Instead of the Cavendish, I use Dark Fired kentucky. Nice that we have so many variable to play with. Now, if the flipping FDA would go away...

Mine puts up with my more-or-less wild hedonism, and only asks that I smoke outside and clean the litter boxes once a week. Not a bad deal when you think about it. FYI, she was also the one who bought me my first pipe making kit

Yeah, well, as per above, my wife finds me indispensable: I open pickle jars and take out the trash

I'm ordering some Dark Fired Kentucky today! I've read that it goes well with Virginians, and even though I'm not a huge VA fan, the Kentucky DF sounds like it'll add some character to a VA/perique blend.

It helps me to keep my drinking in check...after a tall bowl, you're not really in the mood to drink many more beers. Haha! It can be a cruel blend because the cavendish mellows everything out so well, your brain becomes the frog-in-water and doesn't know what's happening until it's too late. On the other hand, maybe my brain DOES know what's happening, but prefers to just let it ride - hard to say which. 2 weeks in a jar under moderate pressure really made me fall in love with it. It made it go from a dank, sweet forest taste to a earthy cocoa taste. I've been smoking it exclusively each night since its creation
