Wow, I thought it was gone for good. Thanks for the tip. I have always meant to buy some, but have always gone for something else instead. I must pick some up.

If you like Presbyterian Mixture, give Peterson Old Dublin a try. It's Presbyterian's big brother, IMHO.

I consider it just fuller in flavor, not a Lat bomb, which I generally dislike.

I've tried Old Dublin in a sample pack - quite liked it, but maybe a tad too much Latakia for me. I'm thinking the PM is slightly milder in that area, no? PM is definitely light on the Latakia. In fact, some troublemakers, like pipestud, insist that there is none! One whiff from the tin and there's no doubt in my mind that it's there - in fact the Lat smell is stronger than the taste when smoking. And I found this on Iwan Reis: 'As there continues to be controversy over the question of whether Presbyterian Mixture contains Latakia, the following quote from page six of the blender's 2008 catalog should leave the matter settled: "Extraordinarily soft blend of finest US Virginia grades and a number of selected Latakia leaf tips. Ideal mixture also for beginners with English tobaccos."' It took me about half a tin to really appreciate this blend because it's so light and subtle - especially compared to just about any other Lat blend. But it's really nice and pleasant, and "soft" in the description is accurate. I think it's a good Springtime Lat blend.

Also available today at Smoking Pipes Yes, and for only $10 a tin! They also sent out an email announcement: "Thanks to a new distribution arrangement, we expect pipe smokers shouldn't have to go without (or at least have to endure crazy dry spells). Starting today. Right now. And so it is with great pleasure that we announce that this elegant mixture of Virginias, Orientals, and Latakia is back in stock at Smokingpipes, where it will continue to be readily available for years to come." Good news - no reason to hoard.
