Greetings fellow pipers!
Our next meeting will take place on Saturday May 12th at 1PM at Big Sticks in Mesa, Az., I will be bringing along my pipe retort kit (without igniting alcohol) to show how to retort a badly ghosted pipe, we will also be discussing the salt alcohol treatment method. Since some of you were missing last month, I will also do a quick review on the reamers for those that are interested.
We look forward to a good time and lively conversation, hope to see you all there!
One of our pipe smoking friends in Pennsylvania, John Fruhmann lost his wife to a prolonged illness. Our pipe club is like a family, and we all mourn the loss of John's bride Barbara, We dedicate this day to her memory and hope that going forward we wish the best for John and his daughter in the days ahead.
Warmest regards, Charlie
Charlie I did figure this out on editing...

Thanks for the heads up, I made a mistake on the date, Saturday May 12th is the correct date. Maybe a mod can adjust the calendar.

Unfortunately, I'll be traveling on 5/12 and 6/9. Hope to see you folks before then, but, if not, see you in July. Please update the thread about discussions, etc. from the meetings.

Will do, have safe travels! Still waiting for my webmaster to update the pipe club website... Saw an employee of an RV facility today, he was smoking a bent billiard and invited him to the meetings.

Looking forward to attending this meeting, hopefully this time no one pranks saying meeting is cancelled! The first, and only, meeting I've been to and the employee at the cigar shop didn't know anything about the pipe club meeting. Fortunately, I stuck around to buy some pipe tobacco and peruse the inventory because trailboss and another gentleman showed up. Soon, pipe smoke was swirling in the air, other folks showed up, and good conversation was being had all around. My birthday is the 11th, so I'll be out of town for this one, at least that is the plan. Missed last month, too. I swear third times the charm, so I am banking on June.

Nico and Greg were on duty, that is weird.... we meet there like clockwork. I am going to suggest random drug tests on them two guys.... We will miss you, see you when you get back....the last several months we have had several people missing month to month for various issues, work and family obligations....I f we get everyone there at one meeting, it should be a heck of meeting!

Charlie, thanks for remembering Barbara. She would be touched by your club's gesture.

Charlie, thanks for remembering Barbara. She would be touched by your club's gesture. You are quite welcome, John. One of our newest attendees had just lost his wife, they had been together just about the same amount of time that you were with yours, he lost his wife to cancer.

The wife got a wild hair to go to Virginia to visit her twin sister for a week, I had been bugging her to go for some time. Had I known sooner I would have had the pipe club meeting at my home...If she had made the decision earlier, I would have planned the meeting at my home and put together a barbecue for everyone, and we would be able to smoke to our hearts content. Since I had already posted in numerous places, our club website, Club Facebook, Briar patch, Corncob nation, Gentlemen's pipe smoking society, United Pipe Clubs of America, I am afraid that it would be a hassle to change it now and a prospective attendee would miss out. My wife had a serious bout with Valley Fever that caused permanent respiratory damage.
