After a wonderful light dinner of soft smelly French cheeses and baguettes with a great chardonnay, now smoking C&D Engine 99 in my old Jarl Canadian with the same chardonnay alongside. Enjoying an evening on the deck.

I took my test. I think I did well. I’m almost finished this bowl of C&D Three Friars in a 2007 Peterson St. Patrick’s Day bent billiard was a vulcanite stem.

Relaxing after a wonderful home made Kentucky Fried Chicken, potatoes and green beans dinner with a bowl of 2014 Sutliff Court of St, James in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad, too! My second Conrad pipe.

Trying something new. Cornell & Diehl Happy Hour. It will be a favorite.
I think that Billy Budd Blonde will be my staple, my signature, what all my clothes will smell like. But occasionally I will change it up with Happy Hour, oh and War Horse and Escudo Navy de Luxe. These others are good, real good, but I get the feeling I could get tired of them. While Billy Budd Blonde always does to me what i want and what i expect.
An example might be, if you like bourbon, Knob Creek is good, very good, now and then. But Bulleit is something that you can lay down as your foundation. Its your drink. Its "what you will have".
Or in music. Respighi, Prokofiev, all great. But Mozart you can climb into and rest comfortably over and over and over again.
Last example might be a restaurant you like. Say an Italian place or a Thai place. Great, not every day. But the corner diner, with the familiar menu you have long memorized, and the waitress who knows you by name, and the plentiful coffee, where they let you read your book long into the evening, well you can reliably stop there any time.

Places like that are most welcome. In my nearby town, in the waitstaff restaurants, there is about a 60 per cent chance that I will be served. When I find a place with a friendly staff and good food, does not have to be great, I feel lucky.
Meanwhile, Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a Karl Erik 2SM. A Pink Gin with two small cubes.

Relaxing after a wonderful steak and potato salad dinner, and am part way through this bowl of D&R Two Timer Gold in a smooth full bend 1977 Crown Coachman 215 egg with a black vulcanite stem. Watching the Braves-Cubs game. Note to self. Bribe price increase. 😁💲💲💲
