Going to do some visiting this summer. Never tried to bring my pipe before.
What are the limitations I need be aware of for traveling from the US to either Canada or the UK with pipe tobacco for personal use only. No unopened tins? Only so much? Don't even try it?
Same thing coming back, if I purchase some tobacco overseas or if my friend gifts me some. Is there a problem bringing it home.
All for personal use only.

coming into the UK shouldn't be an issue. It never was for me when I returned from Lanzarote last year and that was with tins that I purchased out there.
Even less so if it's stuff for personal use.

Yea, all for personal use. And its not a tobacco acquisition visit. Just want to bring my kit, and maybe buy something while there. Looking at the links, it does not appear onerous.

If you WERE coming to the UK it wouldn't be for the cheap tobacco.

Declare what you bought abroad when entering the US. There is no personal exemption for pipe tobacco. However the duty is only $2.83/lb. For a pound or two, it’s not worth doing the paperwork so they won’t have you pay.
I travel a lot including Europe. I always carry about 4oz with me from home and have never had an issue.
