$140.00 seems kind of steep to me. They have been out for awhile, but I haven't seen them take the world by storm. If I was so inclined, I would try the cob version first. corncobpipe.com/cob-cigar.htmlSome here have bought the cob version, but I haven't seen much fanfare about it.

I'm not a great fan of them. Not sure why, but if I'm spending money on a 'briar product' I'll be buying a classic pipe shape.
Reason being is I don't have many pipes. If I had hundreds then my thoughts might be very different.

I've heard that it must be packed really well or else tobacco spills out of it due to the "cigars" orientation while smoking.

Yeah, Although I love all things "cob" the cigar has not interested me. Too much attention must be paid to the burning tobacco and loose ash.

I have the cob version. I may have smoked it twice. Packing is critical and I found that the duration of the smoke is very short. As a novelty item it's cool but, as a pipe, not so much.
