Premium Old tin/w lid. High Quality Champagne(slightly used) cork meticulously superglued to bottom of tin. Handcrafted in USA. What do you use?

Nice, OldCajun! In SC, we've got wasps and hornets the size of small birds...so I keep my head up when smoking outdoors between spring and fall. I like these knocker tins!

Years ago I took up pottery as a hobby. I have a closet full of ugly and misshapen bowls and pots, cups and mugs. I have been using one of them for years now. They add a little customized charm to the proceedings, and remind me to be humble in my artistic aspirations.
Oh, and I don't knock. It makes me nervous.

However when I empty my first tin, I shall be implementing your design. Do i need to pay you a royalty" Love this! ExChef

Been useing this Country Ash Tray for years, down South if you smoke outside you got to be ready, thank the wife for the pipe rests. OC, hope you don't mind the abbeviation. It is funny that you have the can of raid there, where i am sitting at the moment i have bees coming by to visit me and then move away. Freaked Mrs. ExChef out when she noticed them. ExChef

I use one of those soup/coffee cup style bowls that were all the rage a couple of decades back. Holds a lot of ash and the handle is convenient for emptying. I also use an empty pop can as a reverse match safe, so ash is uncluttered if I need some ash for pipe mud.

If I use a knocker at all, it is a really light tap and I grasp the pipe by the shank.... the tenon is the weakest part of the connection.... it looked cool in the old movies when they rapped their bowl while holding the stem, but then so did their gun handling....until you really understood how they work.

I try to lightly tap the side of my shoe then empty whatever remains into my palm.

speaking of clothespins, they also make convenient pipe cleaner holders.

I have 2 empty tins of Frog Morten's Cellar, and two old wine corks This is a great idea, thanks gav. Simple but with a vintage classy look for pipe smoking. Luv it!
