I haven’t seen anyone start a “at the show” thread for Chicago yet... so here it is!
I’ve been here for 6 hours. I’ve bought 1 pipe (a BST) and 2 tins of tobacco so far. I spent a great afternoon in the tent catching up with old friends and am having dinner now.

I certainly didn't buy them to make a profit, but I've become disabled and a lot of McClelland's blends (which I really like) tend to bite my sensitive tongue. I'm holding on to them for now (i.e., no need for anyone to PM  ). |

Have a great time. Check out Sabina Santos pipes. Amazing I second that tip. Sabina is quite an artisan. If you see her...ask to see the 'tadpole' that she just finished. My guess is she's already sold it; the tadpole is something few makers would dare to try. |

But, those were 10 to 20 years old and I don't mind spending the extra money and avoiding the wait. Nice of IRC to hold back some stock for the show. I wish I could have attended, but it's scheduled at a time when I'm on the home stretch with some production or another and getting away isn't in the cards. I hope to attend next year, after I've hung up my brush for good. In the meantime, I'll be attending the WCPS in November in VEGAS BABY!! |
