Cornell & Diehl mainly due to one blend, followed closely by Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. What C&D blend are you talking about?

What C&D blend are you talking about? Old Joe Krantz - daily smoke for me. What are your thoughts on aged OJK? Burley Perique and Virginias make that a fine smoke indeed, a tri-fecta of goodness...... and I smoked some recently with a few years on it, and I think that it is noticeably better. Per Jensen opined on the most recent PM podcast that he thought burleys did not improve with age, but another recent guest said that all his burley blends fared better with 5 years age on it. The Va's I believe certainly benefit from OJK.

The Va's I believe certainly benefit from OJK. I agree with your assessment trailboss. Fresh OJK can be rather sharp and not well balanced. But, with even 6 months of age it improves noticably. I find it levels out with little additional change after five years or so. Whether Burley specifically improves with age is debatable, but OJK definitely does for me. I have 30 lbs or so ranging from fresh to 10 years and I smoke it from the 10 year side and replace it with fresh.

I couldn’t answer this question without looking. Guestimating:
(1) GLP (2) Hearth and Home (could be tied with GLP) (3) Samuel Gawith (4) Esoterica (5) C&D

For me it's a mixed bag....
The largest amount of my cellar, over 20 lbs, is an acquisition I made last year of 29 big jars of CB Perkins. Mostly aro's that I don't smoke.
As for tobacco that I do smoke....
Esoterica Germains Dunhill McClelland C&D Samuel Gawith Standard Tobacco

Old Joe Krantz - daily smoke for me. Not had that yet, what's it like? The burleys are on the dry/bitter side (in a good way) - that typical C&D white Burley taste - and the perique strong plum, spice and pepper. The VAs adds a little sweetness but can get a bit lost at times in the other bold flavors. They did change from a course cut to a uniform ribbon cut last year or so. It really changed the way the blend burns and not for the better. Much more care is needed to keep it burning cool (can get very harsh if smoked hot). Sorry, I stink at this review stuff but I hope that helps...

In my world PS dominates by weight and volume.
By incident numbers, there is fairly even distribution over Sutliff, GH, PS, McClelland.
