I just saw this new offering from Morgan Pipes: "One Anse". What makes is different is it has no stem. All briar. Not sure yet how I feel about it. Your thoughts ?

I'm undecided. Not terribly fussed at the minute, but it might grow on me.

I like it; all-briar pipes are not a new thing though. The Danish pipemaker Zettervig made some all-briar pipes in the 60s and early 70s and I think that there were others as well.

Just wondering how the "mouthpiece" will hold up with clenching. i'm a softee tip guy so don't know how briar will fare over time.

On the other hand, I accidently made a dent with a fingernail in a pipe bowl. If you use softee tips, it should minimize the danger of chomping it to shreds, I can imagine.

...might be worth a try, but I've never been a clencher...

Resistance was futile. I just ordered one. I just like different & this is just that. I have a bunch of Bones and they smoke great so I expect good things from this little guy.

Tabago (Baard Hansen) of Norway also produces (produced?) some stunning pipes with detachable briar stems.
